Thanks for the update, our bodies may not work as well as when we were teens or twenties, but our desires to rebuild/build and refurbish never goes away. Looks like that jack has never left the inner fender in 48 years, the one on my 97 F250 has never been used but it's now on a shelf. My 4X4 truck (not lifted) sits too high for that jack anyways.

Mr Pete, you sir are a true inspiration for us one man bands!! What an epic swap this will be!! I can't WAIT TO see that bracket you make for the slave cylinder!! My buddy has a 7.3 in a F-450 chassis that 5th gear is out of. You say they are pretty straight fwd? Just assumed it would be a nightmare. Looking very FWD to seeing this one unfold and how it goes!! I mounted the clutch master to the firewall years ago when I put the 4cyl cummins in my 77, thats pretty heavy metal back in the day. I think we reinforced it with a back up plate also. But it's been years and no problems. Would love to see the bell crank arrangement

That transmission will be a nice companion to the 300-6. It does have a creeper first gear?

Thanks. This is the “wide ratio” ZF 5, first gear is pretty slow. Not sure if it’s as slow as granny gear in the old 4 speed. Guess I’ll find out.

Did the 300 go into the fe engine mounts?

Yes, but you have to move them ahead. There are another set of holes in the frame rails. Just unbolt them and move them ahead to the next holes. Six cylinder and FE brackets are the same.
