The brackets on the coulter arms are for jointers or skimmers as the English call them. They really help when plowing under lots of trash, but everything has to be set perfectly.

Man yeah Mr Pete!!! That was a sweet sound and sight!! The ole 450 was putting right along!!! I hope you can eventually find the super chiefs you need!! I sure would enjoy the corn planting but I totally understand, it's time consuming for sure!! Thank you my friend for bringing us along!! Can't wait to see more!! 😁😁👍👍🌽🌽🌱🌱🇺🇸🇺🇸

I believe, those colter frames had a jointer point that was set to nearly scrape the rolling colter. I had 4 of them but never had the colter frames to attach them to. The plow did well.

Enjoyed the video very much. The old tractor/plow combination seemed to work just fine. I really like the look of the 450 - especially with the wide front end.

I have no idea what the bracket on the Coulter is ? In 1957 Dad was using a M, and 3/14 MM plow. One of my brothers would use the H, and a 2/14. I know that because we still did that in 1974. Thank you Pete

That plow did excellent with that tall grass I was really surprised lol. Most everyone I see on here with plow videos they done already mowed it or chopped it with a disc 1st or going over crop residue. Makes me want a 3 bottom for my M lol

Good day Pete I am surprised those r for skimmers, to turn trash in furrow Up here yrs ago we had narrow points, I think they thought wide bottom would not go in. Those coulters must be older? I don't know What gear 2nd? Good luck Ths

@@farmerpete I was thinking dad bought new plough #36 3 pt 3 furrow narrow plough share in 69??? I guess other people were using wide bottom. Don;t know much about them We had a ford wide share at the end. Ths

@@farmerpete I like sanding. I was taught to clean and oil my tools so they don't rust when I was 7 yrs. old. That man was our age 61 yrs. ago. He's gone now but not his knowledge. Mr. Rayford was his name.
