Awesome job. Mr. Pete. I have a 1979 F 150 same color as that tailgate. Those old trucks are headturners. Lots of people like those years.

Love it! I recently built a 300 and put it in my truck. Four wheel drive so a little different. Tip for the wise don't try and put long tube headers on it, its a pain! Have a good one man, I really appreciate your videos.

A little new stuff for the old Ford and I'll Bet that 5th gear over drive really makes a big difference on the RPM's when she is on the road and maybe it will save money on gas now. Now I bet you feel like your back home driving it to town ! Bandit

@@farmerpete I dont know about you but I really dont like working on the newer cars and trucks, There made so you really cant work on them. Mid 90's and back you can do about anything to them without too much of a problem but this new stuff is a joke ! My GF's 2014 Chrysler mini van just had the trans go out and to change it requires the engine trans and the whole sub frame to come out to change it , What a joke ! At least with your old Ford truck you can do anything you want to it engine and trans and it will work. Too bad they dont build them like that anymore ! Bandit

I have to wonder what did the RPM drop back to in fifth gear?

Runs down the road at about 2100 rpm. Very similar to the old 4 speed with the 3.00 gears. 5th gear in this transmission is 0.76 overdrive. 4.11 rear end gears with 0.76 overdrive (4.11 X 0.76 = 3.12) would be the same as direct drive, like 4th gear in the old transmission, with 3.12 rear end gears. Hope that makes sense! Thanks SBF.
