Hey, lead dev here (Julian Creutz)! Glad you had fun with the game! The bug with the input locking was indeed already patched haha, it was a really silly mistake.

Nice!!! Always seems like bugs usually come from silly mistakes haha, but glad to hear it's straightened out! Gonna pin this here so others can see that. Great work with your game so far. Looking forward to jumping back into this at some point in the future!

So is this project going to eventually become something like a game engine like RPG Maker? That is that people can import their own assets and such and tweak things like one might do with a normal game engine. With something like RPG Maker it's more that you have pre-made templates and assets focused on making a certain type of game.

@@brainstormsurge154 Nope, that's not the intention. Maker mechanics are kept much more accessible than your typical game engine and we also don't allow official mod support anymore because we are bringing the game to major consoles and we don't want to risk copyright infringement (of course, unofficial modding is still possible!)

It reminds me of 3d Dot Game Heroes. Also, a multiplayer Zelda game could be like Four Swords with multiple players needed to solve puzzles.

I actually hadn't heard of 3D Dot Game Heroes before, but probably because it was console only. Didn't grow up with hardly any console games unless I emulated them. And you're right!! I completely forgot about Four Swords. Hey, now that makes me really happy to see a multiplayer Zelda-like game then. Pity we never quite saw anything like that again besides the other Four Swords on the Gamecube as well.

A few years ago I ended up receiving a coupon for a game called "Shotgun Legends" the kind of small games you can find on Steam and that cost a penny to play, I eventually played that game and it happened to be a 2D Zelda like with a shotgun instead of a sword. Now obviously it wasn't really pretty but I could see that the developer took its time to balance properly each areas and make a few interesting bosses, and while at first I wasn't having the time of my life, I actually ended up liking the game that was my first Zelda 2D like. So because of that small game I consider myself at least interested in that type of games and I think it's actually interesting that it will allow everyone to have a tool to make a game in the same vein. Now obviously one problem that I do have is that I'm not a great builder but I'll still keep an eye on that game in case it has cool mods to play, I also was able to download the fan made PC port of Zelda Links' Awakening before Nintendo shut it down, so I kinda have that game to do as well, I hope I'll like it since I've never really played any Zelda for longer than 30mins (I really struggled with Twilight Princess / Ocarina of Time, I think mostly due to me not trying hard enough on them.) Thanks for the video, that one is cool for me.

Oh wow, so you're saying you've never really played a 2D Zelda game at all then? Or really any Zelda game from the sounds of it. But yeah, I felt Quest Master got that feel down pretty well. As for not being a builder, yeah, I'm not too sure that I am either. I tried it for the demo to see how it worked but I don't see myself spending the time to make dungeons. Wouldn't have the time for that besides. But I am excited for what people can come up with especially since there were already good creations to play.

@@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews Nah, I was a Nintendo kid as most people are but there never was a single Zelda game in my household, so I never grew up with them, I grew up with Donkey Kong Country, Mario, GoldenEye, Turok, Quake etc... but no Zelda. I've tried Ocarina of Time a while ago because it sounded cool and everyone was praising it but I honestly struggled to play it but to be fair I didn't leave it enough time to impress me. I also prefer to play what people create than make my own creation. Now that I think about it that game give some Mario Maker vibes but with Zelda instead of Mario, and from what I've seen lots of people simply play other people's creation in Mario Maker, so it doesn't seems like we're forced to enjoy building to like that game. The only thing is to see if enough people will purchase the game and make interesting levels on it, but the idea is definitely great.

@@SenMayerGaming Heh, most of my time with Nintendo games was through emulators growing up. So, I never technically played the actual games themselves lol. Outside of Nintendo 64 at friends' homes, I never owned a Nintendo console until the DS...which wasn't really a console, but yeah. Even now I only have the Wii U. Hardly ever play console games.

@@SenMayerGaming Heh, no, my dad didn't believe in buying a console. "Why buy a console instead of a computer? You can only play games on a console but you can do that and a lot more with a computer!" Which, to his credit, makes sense lol. And, to be honest, for the longest time growing up, we didn't even have a modern enough television to hook the cords into anyway.

Haha, yup, yup. And like I said, the launch will supposedly have a full overworld editor. So that means many talented people can put together whole games if they have the ambition to do so.
