Actually, in 2006 that is when Gears of War 1 released and if you go back and look at that game, they look waaaaaaaay better than the characters here. I would say that these are more 2004 or 2005 levels of characters, not too dissimilar to 007 Everything or Nothing on the PS2 and OG Xbox.

Racing games historically are light on traffic. Having a bunch of obstacles really changes the dynamic of a driving game, and for some it would ruin the "racing" aspect.

I'm gonna wait until the game drops until i make my decision on whether this is worth my time. I already know most will take this demo and rip it to shreds with the "Mobile game graphics" and "2013 looking game" comments as if this is supposed to represent launch day but earlier. I save my criticism for the right time and i hope this game doesnt end up like a lot of others where the first impressions ruin the chances of it getting some love.

Completely the same here, not sure what to think about the game yet. Too many examples of games breaking promises at release in the current gaming era so it's safer to just wait. I just hope that the outside city area is well done, because TDU 1 was great both in the city and outside the city back when it released.

Suspension is least of the worry. Look how the car accelerates and changes gears. Its off-putting and unrealistic. No car gauges or engines rev and change gears like in this game. Look at the in game cluster, the RPMs go mad, even when trying to drive normally... Game is sooo fake.

Hope the single player is solid; had a good time treating the original like a CarPG, unlocking 100% roads explored and finding all the dealerships. Used to delete the traffic folder as well since the traffic AI was so bad it was just a lot easier and less frustrating to play without it.

I tried the demo and I have this to say: Car physics are really good. Not as good as Forza Horizon, but that comparation would be a little unfair, on their own they work really great, specially if you remove the traction control. At first the going over curbs and obstacles looked a bit wonky, but when you play the game they actually feel like it makes sense, curbs and obstacles slow you down like they should. And the variety of streets, having some that are properly tight feels good when you pull off going over 120kmph on them without crashing. Overall, I hope they cook the game a little more and we will have a worthy Forza Horizon competitor, which we desperately need (as The Crew and NFS can't compete when their car physics are wonky as heck and more on the arcade side than on the simcade).

Okay since nobody is saying it, the cars actually sound really good and the audio in general sounds pretty solid. Maybe just collision noises needing to be fixed. But for an AA title yeah they did some decent audio work on the vehicle models

I had high hopes for TDUSC mainly cuz the location was gonna be in Hong Kong And I've been to Hong Kong three times already, and looking at the open world here, it feels different than what i expected I expected it to be full of life and as well as the city being genuinely alive, with all the traffic passing by and music blasting in some places But here it seems so dystopian, like Crashmetal Cyberpunk mixed with CarX Street, the fog kinda makes things feel off though, it somewhat shows the area of Hong Kong really well but it doesnt perfectly capture it i must say Overall i still wanna try TDUSC.

For whatever reasons the steering instantly resets whenever you stop steering which made it look janky. It needs to be gradual when you stop steering, not instantaneous

The physics is whats making it look like that, The cars dont react to imperfections of the road and the body roll is very very minimal, almost theres no weight to the cars or physics in the suspension reacting to the weight transfer. These things have to visually be there for a racing game to be good, and this has none of that, Just another racing game where driving is easy and floaty.

I think it's a mix of both, the camera is wonky but the car handling is also a bit janky. ISAD said the wheel instantly returns to neutral when you're not steering, for example.

The cars models, they look amazing. There is so much depth on regular things that you can do with the car(as in real life) that some games like FH lack. The interior customaztion is nice, the sound of the cars, I don't know if they accurate, but they do sound really nice to me. AI seems really week. I was playing and working, and so I had to work for like 15 seconds, and they game did not pause and still managed to catch them and win. The city looks really empty, with no people at all on the street, which is weird. I will not talk graphics because it is a demo, but damn I saw a lot of artifacts on the screen. And the saddest thing for me, was that I am not really sold on the driving physics

That start of the game is a little bit abrupt... Normally, in the TDU games, you'd get something like a more detailed Intro and even selecting your character during it. Collision physics for me. I think there will be lot of these janky collision physics shown on youtube and I really dislike how the game keeps wanting to drift despite me countersteering with no gas. Drifts/Slides should be recoverable. And lastly get rid of this stiff Gran Turismo camera!

@@KingZedusPrime2009TyrentKaiju even the camera system of the classic DiRTs from Codemasters is much better than that of the TDU Solar Crown even though it is a beta. I feel like this game has no soul, the game isn't bad but it could be much better as it's been in development for years, generally KT Racing games are average to good, nothing more than that but let's see what the final version of the game will be like when it's released in september of this year

ONLINE ONLY for a single player game. Waste your money on this and in about 2 years when the servers are shut down............ Yeah

They had me at having a scroll wheel to OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS.

Looks really futuristic. I know this is still in demo build, so they will probably polish the graphics even more, especially the NPCs. I also understand NPCs aren’t the main focus of the game, but that’s why I hope they will take their time perfecting the game. I don’t mind delays, just give me good TDU game, I can still play TDU1 on PS2 in the meantime. What I wish they would add: - DnB and Lounge music like TDU1 - Multiple hotel rooms with different aesthetics and garage sizes. The only base shown in this video is very futuristic, heck the whole game feels so futuristic. I love the cozy vibes of the first house in TDU1. Even TDU2 got you started with a trailer. - Remove the reputation system. Locking cars behind reputation is a bummer imo. In TDU1 I could buy any vehicle from the start of the game, but some cars are just insanely expensive and limited, it wasn’t as generous and easy as FH games, so ultimately you would still need to play the game to finally buy them.

Seems to have the "modern game" combo of both not looking good and running like crap. Can't feel the handling of course but it LOOKS to be very basic. I'm not convinced so far.

@@r32juan Man I really hope you're just 12 and this is your first time seeing a "demo" or "beta" game. The game comes out in 3 months, it's finished, and anything they change will be extremely minor.

1: It's not Hawaii or China, it's Hong Kong. The map at 3:07 is Hong Kong island. Not to mention the numerous Hong Kong taxis all over the place. And the name of the first race is a place in Hong Kong. I found that out in 2 seconds with a google search. What made you think it was Hawaii? 2: Game visuals are usually complete by the time the demo appears. This game is meant to release in September this year. That's three months to fix the jank, not a lot of time. Considering they've been developing this game for years now... not a good sign afaic. 3: What does patience have to do with what I said?

Game looks actually way better then I thought (not in terms of graphics, but it isn't bad as well). I hope we finally got good revived franchise.

Remember this is not a AAA game. Its a small team’s first foray into this franchise with a AA budget. I can look past the character models, voice acting, graphics as long as the optimization, classic tdu elements and core driving parts are done well

Rating games by AAAAA letters is so fun to me. It sure wont have Microsoft's favorite FH treatment, but for some reason I still put lot more hours and fun into old tdu than fh3, and because of fh's map design, I don't think I will try fh4, fh5. I hope they keep things to driving around and exploring without much directions and all those tiny details other open world racing games miss out on. The map seems promising, but I'm worried that its too small for a tdu game.

AA my assburger, meanwhile games like Night Runners mesmerize me when it was made by literally 1 single guy, and let's not forget we also get Project Wingman and Trepang2 looked like an actual next gen title for being made by a much, much smaller studios

i love the artstyle, the city reminds me of scenes from PGR4. Maybe it will be a really good game. And don't listen to people complaining about npc's or something, racing is important, artstyle is, and the game looks great in my opinion. Just hope for some classic JDM cars. And unlike FM series the map actually looks fun to race on.
