Zante 2024 Kalamaki Restaurants Part 1- Dias, Dafni's & D & B's
In episode 5, we try 3 different restaurants in Kalamaki, in the first of 2 episodes centering around Kalamaki's restaurants.
Our first restaurant in Dias. Here we try out the Beef Stifado and Beef Stamnas.
Our second restaurant is Dafni's on the main street of Kalamaki. We try the Mushrooms a la Creme to start, before sampling the Chicken Souvlaki and Lamb Kleftiko.
Our last stop is D & B's Restaurant, set back from Kalamaki's main street. Here try Kalamki's famous BBQ ribs, along with some tzatziki and pita bread.

All food looked great, but as you said….The Greeks know how to do it. I agree with your kleftiko though….a wee bit small ❤❤
We are the same with the wine. We have learnt over the past few years that the house red wine can vary so much from one restaurant to another. We now ask to sample it and make our decision from there. We love Kalamaki and now back home from being out there 11 nights early June. We are booked again for next years. Our 11th year. Love your videos! Thank you both!

Thank you Simon. Yes it can be a bit hit miss with wine, majority if the time we've had great wines. I think there's only eve been 2 occassions where it hasn't been great.
Really enjoying your vlogs as per ☺. Looking to go back to kalamaki next june and find your videos so helpful. Got to go to see claude seems a great bloke 👍

I’m gonna have the chicken dish at Dafni’s when I get there in September. It looks great and I’m such a fusspot when it comes to food.

Awesome reviews especially on D&Bs BBQ restaurant! It’s our favorite place in zakynthos! Babis makes his own, BBQ sauce, coleslaw and tzatziki sauce.

Yes we loved it. The ribs were superb and like you said the tzatziki and coleslaw are amazing. We'll be back if we ever get back to Kalamaki
again brilliant loved your comment on the cold evening i am a southern softy and have been known to wear 2 jackets in early and late season keep up the great work

No we wouldn't have said that. I think it was Jacqui saying "spot on".
Eaten at Dias many times. Had my best fillet steak there. But our go to place is Daphne’s or Ellie’s which I know you both like. Never had a bad meal in kalamaki.

@@continentalcoxons if. And it’s very rare we go for steak. Usually do the Greek thing (kleftico /stamnas/anything in a pot with cheese). But your value for money plus entertainment for anything from the grill. Is Claude at Mellon bar. 😊👍🏻
Re:- Dafni's .. I dislike awaiting for the Bill when you wanna move on ! ..puts ne off..some Restaurants want to keep you there to make the place look full.. when that happens I never go back 😢

To be fair to them, it was quite busycin there and not many staff. There are staff problems.all.over Greece atvthe moment so that's not particularly their fault. The food was great though and a lovely place. Turns out the owners are actually Claude's cousin too.

Opp's Claudes cousins.. I'll let them off 🤣🤣🤣👍I went into one restaurant in Laganas back streets.. must have left us waiting for the bill for over half hour.. was no joke.. but never went back there .. All the best you nice people ... might pop and see Claude next month ❤👍
