I can see why Ray Fisher was upset at the theatrical version, Cyborg's backstory was really well done. All that few minutes that should have been in the original movie, just gutted without a thought.

But they could be long when they are not created just to entertain. In fact, a lot of arthouse films are longer than 3 hours, they are not created for ga and there is a certain craft in creating movies for ga.

Corey's comment about Zack Snyder's style resembling music videos makes sense, especially considering he actually use to direct music videos.

The scene where Bruce Wayne is Talking to Aquaman and goes back into the water, ladies show up and start singing some hymn, scared the Jesus out of Bruce Wayne I laughed. Then lady picks up some sweater and Bruce is like “alright weirdos, keep singing but I’m gonna show myself out” 🤣🤣

Not a Zach Snyder fan here. Didn’t like Man of Steel or BvS all that much, and hated the garbage 2017 Justice League.. This Snyder Cut was fucking awesome and metal as hell. I loved it from start to finish. And where has THIS Wonder Woman been?! Best depiction of her character yet. Thoroughly enjoyed the Snyder Cut. I’m happy he was able to make his original vision.

I hope this film does really well (streaming numbers/subscribers) and HBO Max cuts a deal with Zach and lets him finish this story line. I’d love to see Justice League part 2 and 3 as he originally planned. And just let Man of Steel - Justice League be his own DC Snyder verse. I see now that he had a vision and much of this new film adds further context to things I didn’t like in Man of Steel and BVS.

I constantly kept thinking at various points during the movie “why the hell would they cut this?” Especially the Cyborg and Flash stuff. Also, this movie had an epic feel to it that was really missing from the theatrical. It felt like there were stakes in this version, where it didn't really feel like there were in the other.

Cutting down on the shirt sniffing, epilogue future and the Martha manhunter I can agree with, but the slowmo and junkie xl hans zimmer combo is a personal taste

"If you're fucking superman, you're a hero to somebody" that is a line for the ages.

Snyder Cut Is amazing!! I really loved the better treatment and development of the characters. Pacing was great, didn't even feel like 4 hours, though I might have just been more engaged than some. It's surprising how much the fights got butchered in the one released by Joss Whedon. Each characters strengths were very well utilized.

This was the most fulfilling 4 hours of watching a movie. The Snyder Cut did not disappoint. I really want a Zack Snyder led DC universe now

He’s literally been at the helm of it since Man of Steel. Obviously he’s not a director for every one of the movies, but he was given the principle responsibility by Warner Brothers to do it all. The DCEU universe (pre-Shazam) is more or less his.

i think the problem is that, is he gonna require 4 hour long director cuts for each movie moving forward lmao. Like i still think bvs is bad for example but the director's cut make things better. Same for watchmen though watchmen theatrical is better than bvs theatrical but like bvs, the director's cut is better. Snyder needs to somehow learn to try and not just rely on cuts

Snyder isn’t even the base of the problem. Given, the cut was a lot better... but then again you can’t have four hour long movies. Marvel only got away with three because it was the end of a 10 year arc. He’s not going to have that levity. Warner Brother’s screwed themselves over by giving Zack Snyder the lead and wanting to sell BvS as their second film, stuffing way too much into it and essentially crippling the DCEU.

Lovin and agreeing on so many points TBH I went in with 0 to no expectations so for me Cons: 4 effin Hours, A lot of TryHard PRETENTIOUS "OPERATIC" Sounds overlapping SlowMotion scenes which GOT Old FAST But if you've seen Zack Snyder's Films you already knew that was gonna be there. Pros: MUCH BETTER FIGHTS like Seeing Wonder Woman Hack up Parademons & Robbers with Blood Splattering is Hype, THE Story Cohesion is much better for the story they are trying to tell, Cyborg's Character in this Film REALLY made me CARE & they did a lot with him & so you can see why Ray Fisher was Mad about the Whedon version, Subtle Comedy this time around instead overly Jokey like Whedon's version which is hit or miss imho, tbh Majority of the film had my attention which I couldnt say for WW1984 so thats a bonus to me personally. Also I went into this with the mindspace this is just one of DC's Many Multiverses and this one happens to be this way instead of like the cartoon, cause some comics for DC have been this dreary as well. All in All, Better than I expected since I got to watch it at home

I actually really like the slow mo shots, Zack Synder puts them at important times, he has them there so we can understand the character we're watching, like Aquaman drinking on the pier, in that scene we realise, well he's alone he's angry at the sea, he's slowly being dragged into it It tells you alot in a short moment of time, that's what those scenes are for to look around at what's happening to peep into these characters heads to understand where they are and how they feel, it helps care about the characters more

The Superman vs Justice League fight actually had a lot of different stuff. Superman destroyed a bunch of army vehicles, cyborg saved a cop from one of them. Cyborg, Flash, & Aquaman took another run at Superman before he fought Wonder Woman. Instead of Superman picking up Batman and threatening him "do you bleed" which made no sense, he was still confused and just attacking anyone he thought was a threat. He shot heat vision at Batman on the ground instead. There were no jokes either, it was a consistent tone, much better.

Nothing in this review is wrong. Every point valid. They gave the man free reign. You want four hours..you got it.. and you use all your extra time for music videos, slow motion and unnecessary character inclusions. Some might call it a masterpiece... I call it masturbatory.

Dark seed. That had me rolling. Lmao.

Watched it today. Great improvement. The characters are fleshed out, the story makes sense and the action is epic.

I was a fan of the theatrical release but I already had low expectations because of BvS. This Snyder Cut is an improvement but imo this just goes to show that WB's decision to leapfrog into an "Avengers" movie was a bad idea. They tried to introduce Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg in the same movie PLUS a villain plus the resurrection of Superman all in the span of 2 hours. That was never gonna work. As you can see here, the movie needed to be 4 hours long just to not feel like it had 1000 unresolved or rushed plot threads lol. Avengers only introduced the Chitauri and they were really just there as fodder. That's why the movie didn't feel like it was struggling to get the entire story through in its runtime.

The only origin story we got here is Cyborg's. It's a team movie where we already had a solo origin movie of Superman and Wonder Woman, and Batman had a shared 3 hour movie. Guardians of the Galaxy has like 5 or 6 unknown characters in one movie with no predecessors. The Justice League never needed to follow the MCU model

Looked like it was filmed as a rush job the same way the emails of Flash and Aquaman were filmed for BvS. Cyborg got how many scenes with his dad? two or three? His origin was rushed to hell so to say it was his origin movie actually hurts your case of JL not needing the MCU model. Thing is you're comparing the GotG to the JL. The GotG are not the Justice League. The GotG are like the Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers. They've always been a team and there is really no reason to dwell on their origins prior to forming the team. The JL is more askin to the Avengers in that they are a superteam of heroes that existed on their own prior to the JL. The Justice League didn't even make its first appearance until about 20 years after Aquaman, WW, Batman, and Superman were created. Besides, not every character is made equal. There's a reason even the MCU skipped solo movies for some characters, like Hawkeye. The GotG is a team of minor characters who were never going to get a solo movie anyhow. For example, you were never going to see a Groot movie, so idk why you're counting him. Also, while I understand a group movie can work, it doesn't work when you've got major players like the JL all are. Imagine the JL meeting the same way that the GotG met lol. It'd be like "really? that's it?" Except you don't have to imagine, that's what we got. Batman just goes to some garage and gets Flash. He goes to a village and has 1 conversation with Aquaman. Cyborg meets Wonder Woman on the side of the street. At some point it's like wtf is going on here? They're doing this Ocean's 11 style with characters that have decades of backstory. It doesn't work. Thing is, they HAD to do it this way because they had to do it as quickly as possible in order to cram it all into one movie.

@@damagedcharizardcollector1195 Tbh, I don't even know how to pinpoint it. I just know that I had a good time. I guess what I liked the most about JL was that they did a great job with finally making it clear that Batman is not top dog. That made me happy to see. After so much time of him being glorified as the kind of hero who can do anything, it was cool seeing actual superpowered beings getting the bulk of the action. I also liked that they finally infused these characters with personality. Aquaman and Flash had some good banter, Wonder Woman and Batman too. Superman came back feeling like actual Superman with some joy. I think they really messed up with Cyborg but I guess that's to be expected when you've got so many other heavy hitters on screen. Admittedly, it still did not reach the heights of Avengers but it was decent enough for me to not hate it.

Snyder's Barry Allen looks like Enrique Iglesias, and acts like Wally West. Jason Mamoa's Aquaman looks like khal Drogo, and acts like Jason Mamoa.

It's a completely different movie, the 4h flew by, so much epic stuff, and at the same time the movie had heart. Got chills several times, WB execs know SHIT! about moviemaking!

These guys forget that Thanos made appearances in 2-3 Marvel films before Infinity War. This was the first time we have seen Darkseid and he was much more than a simple villain when we saw the flashback where the Gods of Earth defeated him. He will be more prominent in a sequel if they make it.

I mean the movie is so successful that I don't see them not cashing in on the franchise by making sequels. Do I think we will get snyder back? No. But snyder did leave the door open for somebody else to take over, we all know what Snyders plans were now. Fans are already demanding more and if they did make more that would make me more than happy as long as they get a competent director.

I’m of two minds when it comes to this new version. On the one hand, there’s no point in asking if this movie is “better”; the theatrical cut ran 2 hours flat and the Snyder cut adds on about an extra 100 minutes give or take before the credits roll so of course Zack’s version is gonna be better. But by that same token, I can’t say the movie is “good”. This is what I realized by the end of the movie, Zack Snyder doesn’t know how to balance pacing in his DCEU movies, and he needs to know when to just leave scenes on the cutting room floor instead of trying to find ways to fit them in the narrative that he’s struggling to build. Specifically with Justice League, the only scenes he added back in that made the most sense to me were everything related to Cyborg and Steppenwolf. Those scenes worked very well. Everything else, they could have been shorter or removed altogether. The Martian Manhunter scenes did not need to be here and it actually upset me how he revealed him the first time because for me it completely undercut the emotions in the scene prior to the reveal. But I kept thinking, “if Zack Snyder shot enough footage three years ago to add another two hours to the running time, and all it did was elevate a bad movie to just okay, then its still a bad movie.” All it really did was remind me of the things that I didn’t like the first time around.

Best way to do a sequel to JL is set up some of the villains in the solo films and have them join together in JL2 to form the Legion of Doom and then tease Darkseid's armada in the post credits scene

The bad casting, lack of chemistry, lack of character development, poor writing, and rushed production of BvS was the problem. You don't do two of DC's most well known properties, (The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman) in one film.(BvS) The DCEU's credibility was all but gone before Justice League came out. Snyder's cut gave more context for some storylines and characters. And had better visuals and fight sequences. But it's still not anywhere close to being a good film. Steppenwolf wasn't a legit threat. Both Aquaman and Wonder Woman held their own against him during one on one battles. During the flashback sequence Darkseid, got his rear end handed to him, within minutes of the invasion. He's was beaten so badly, his minions had to carry him back to his ship, were he fainted like a b'tch. Barry Allen was still annoying, Superman wasn't needed. Every scene with Lois killed the pacing. And Superman's return was wasted. Not to mention the gratuitous slow mo, and unnecessary vocals every 5 secs. There's much more, but suffice it to say, Joss Whedon wasn't the problem. Warner Bros. And Snyder need a Kevin Feige

Korey calls it music videos but I call it commercials. The scene when Aquaman walks looks like a whole drink commercial lol

I think this movie benefited from the first one coming out. I do not think people would have liked it as much if this movie came out first.

When it comes to The Flash the movie manages to use slow-motion for storytelling purposes: First, to show how slow the world feels to someone as fast as him, like in the bit with the dog that barks at him. Second (and this was in the 2017 version too), when he and Superman fight in slow-motion, Flash is actually moving at "normal" speed, while Superman was in slow motion but still fast, to show the different nature of their powers (this sequence was the main reason I watched the 2017 movie in theaters more than once).

Now I bet this is gonna be the excuse for all DC movies whenever they make a bad movie they just gonna be like don't worry we will just release the new cut

@@benedicto2031 risking being called butthurt but you kinda have a point there. i subscribed to them when they had like 10 k subscribers. used to love them, funny, insightful, reminds me of my uncles but most of all, balanced. didn't notice right away but i think it's about the time DC vs marvel thingy going on. and star wars. for some reason they kept hating star wars to a point i felt like i should feel guilty for liking a tiny bit part of the movie and it was just getting uncomfortable for me to like a movie, that's where i drew the line so i unsubbed.

All I can say is Zack's Snyder's Wonder Woman is MY Wonder Woman... Everything we liked about the character and the Amazons was in this version. Suddenly I was hyped about WW again. It is Night and Day between this and WW1984...

Being in Europe sometimes suck. 😩 But yeah #ReleaseTheMartinCut. 😂😂😂

I watched the whole 4 hours and i think the only reason why it was even that long was because the amount of slow motion and random scenes where it turns into a music video for some reason like when Aquaman is walking to the water in slo-mo, what the fuck did that add to anything in this movie other than "Wow, that'll look great for the trailer" this whole movie felt like it was a trailer shot.

I was pretty underwhelmed with it overall, was it better than the theatrical cut? yeah kinda but it had stuff in that I really liked that wasn't in this Like "Save One" and "The world needs Superman... the team needs Clark." I felt they should've taken the miniseries route, to compete with FATWS and keep in the public consciousness longer because I am literally going to forget this in like two days, although I think it had legal reasons why they couldn't do that. Also, they probably should've given him more money because some of the effects still looked unfinished, incomplete rendering, shoddy compositing etc The extra major stuff felt weak and tacked on, like Manhunter for example, does he only have flight and shapeshifting in this universe? He didn't help out more against Zod and Doomsday he was right there, and could've quickly read Lex's mind to help out Lois quicker with Mystery bullet subplot in BvS? eh whatever, It's over moving on. Rental

@@kennycodes I don’t think Zack Snyder is a good fit for Dragon Ball. It’s too light-hearted and fast paced which contrasts with Zack’s usual filmmaking style.

I never felt like I was watching a long movie. Cyborg is a 18-22 year old. he was turned into what he considers a freak. most young people would be that way.

Did you notice the “me too” moment between steppen wolf and Wonder Woman?

I like Snyder as a person. This is not his vindication as an artist though, this is not what his theatrical 2017 cut would have been like at all. NOBODY else gets tens of millions extra to go back and redo their film with 4 hours run time after a bunch of years of fans engaging on social media saying what they hated about the Joss version and what their fantasy inclusions would be. I did really enjoy this. The exposition helped me a lot where the Old cinema release just confused me. My take away is Zack cannot discipline himself to do the necessary plot legwork to justify scenarios, BvS is the pinnacle of that, he wants characters in different contexts and personality but doesn't build to it.. so.. How about a 6 episode per year, 45 Min let episode Elseworlds series where he gets big budget and can just do HUGE lavish fanservice and novelty using whatever actors he wants and then the next year it's a different alternative scenario he makes

Someone is getting fired....FIRED because of this film. $1 BILLION locked up in a vault.........WB, you done fucked up now.

@@JeffZ1028 Yes in Batman: A Death in the family, joker kidnaps robin, tortures him, and then blows him up I believe. Hence why he brings it up to batman.

The biggest take away from this is the studio F***ed up by rushing their universe too much which ended up totally needing 4 hrs to develop each new added characters while also creating an arc for the established ones. at the end of the day the lesson is "WB needs to fix their make a better plan in the future"

Man... it was 2hours of fluff ...slow motion !! SMH! I was hoping for better

Things I can't deny about Snyder his dedication to full visual adaptation of a graphic novel/comic .He can direct the hell out of an action sequence,and his eye for detail and its all on full display in this movie.

That's why it's getting such good reviews because it's his beautiful visual style but with actual character development and drama this time

@@danielmillward9947 yes most of the characters have been built up over the other movies so there’s actually back story and character development

I'm not a huge fan of Snyder and Michael Bay, but I'll take Snyder's action scenes over Bay's any day.
