"For killing a couple terrorist" She killed them when she didn't have to. She blew out the wall of the building and sent shrapnel into the crowd of police - when she didn't have to. You realize that she is a fictional character and the point is actually that SNYDER loves gore violence and bloodshed. He made his bones [pun intended] in Zombie movie remakes and went right back to it after Snyder Cut. He is really more suited to gore horror than super heroes. Does that answer your question?

Indeed. The first question any writer trying to write a Batman that's willing to kill should ask is, "Why wasn't The Joker his first victim?" In The Flashpoint Paradox, this was handled pretty much perfectly: Batman's willing to kill because Batman is Thomas Wayne, not Bruce, and he doesn't kill The Joker because The Joker is Martha Wayne.

The reason J'onn J'onzz is called Martian Manhunter is because at the time the character first appeared, the word "manhunter" meant "someone who hunts criminals". Martian Manhunter is supposed to be a detective (he first appeared in Detective Comics) - that's where he gets his name from. Over time, the term "manhunter" has taken on a different implication, and the character in these movies is clearly not a detective, so yeah, the meaning is lost and the name comes off more threatening than it should.

The best reason that the story could possibly have for the motherboxes awakening was the same thing that happened in the Avengers, i.e. "Your experiments with the Tesseract is what drew Loki and his allies to it. It is a signal that the Earth is ready for a higher form of war." The act of saving Victor's life using one motherbox activates it and that's how the plot starts. But, Superman death scream. Smh.

Trying to turn the mother boxes into Infinity Stones is one of the things wrong with the film in the 1st place. MotherBoxes are devices that open boom tubes - which are portals. That means they are basically teleporters. They are not “way finder” mystery McGuffins that wake or sleep or fart or $hix as the plot needs. Chris Terrio who also botched Rise/Skywalker, another plot hole fest, just can’t write.

“Act of saving Victor’s life using one motherbox activates” ⬆️ Contradicting the excuse that Superman’s death scream awakens the boxes - meaning they already woke and for completely different reason. Also begging the question of why Steppenwolf is summoned to Atlantis if the box that Silas has and which *he spends the whole film trying to find* is what woke??? Suppose the boxes are on opposite ends of the galaxy instead of the planet. By your logic Steppenwolf is summoned to one side of the galaxy by a box on the other side, and then…here’s the kicker: *He still CAN’T FIND the box, that summoned him.* lol.

Having them wake up when the world is steeped in the fear of losing Superman makes sense too. Darkseid is a New God, the embodiment of EVIL itself. On top of that, he's a higher dimensional being that utilizes technology that's literally impossible. He could make grenades that produce anger instead of an explosion. He can kill you with a metaphor. He nearly destroyed reality by FALLING ON IT! His terraforming weapons (Why does he even HAVE terafforming weapons? Dude can play ping pong with planets, he's the size of a STAR) being activated by sufficient fear actually make sense. Them having a Clark Kent death yell wake function makes no fucking sense even for Darkseid who shot his son from the future while he was fighting his son in the past as his son killed him.

@@BWMagus There's another problem; a problem of continuity. There is a name for an older Batman that uses guns and kills people, and that name is *Thomas* Wayne: a big part of the Flashpoint storyline was that, in the altered timeline, Bruce died while Thomas and Martha survived, causing Thomas to become a broken version of Batman. Snyder knew that the DCEU was going to have its first Flash movie be a Flashpoint adaptation, and yet, he still made his Bruce Wayne indistinguishable from Thomas Wayne. Sure enough, rather than try to use Thomas Wayne, the Flash movie, after a million rewrites and changes in director, is now just copying Into the Spiderverse/No Way Home by bringing back the Batman from Tim Burton's Batman movies.

So WW can put that Sword of hers right between his *eyes* before he can even blink. [FILM OVER]. She just - doesn't. Note: MCU has the same problem in No Way Home when Dr. Strange refused to end his fight with Spiderman in milliseconds, and again...in MOM where God Mode Wanda could END film before it begins and in fact there is no reason for the film to even happen. Especially in a fantasy sci-fi film like this, it's not meant to be taken literally. I'm sure there are sci-fi and fantasy films that take great lengths to maintain logic. continuity and realism in every instance, but I think it would be greatly limited by the amount of expression that could done by the artist.

Somehow it never occured to me before watching this review, but how exactly are we supposed to think that Darkseid is powerful/threatening? He got his ass kicked by Ares, who got his ass kicked later by Wonder woman, who is basically canonically weaker than superman. So the 'big bad' of the DCEU is weaker than some villian that the not-even-strongest of the good guy team has already beaten 1on1. And its not like Darkseid is a lex-luthor-type villian, who might be weak but a threat through intellect and planning. Nope, he is just a normal-ass villian who gets outperformed by several of our heros individually, let alone combined. Great villian, im on the edge of my seat -.-.

He didn't get his ass kicked by Ares, he literally got setup in a combo attack by three others god's and before that he manhandles a Green Lantern. That is how we know that Darkseid is a threat, he just flatout manhandles one of the most powerful forces in the known universe. Why is everyone lying about how Darkseid only gets his ass kicked by Ares? I mean, did we not see Artemis distract him with her arrows and shoot like three of them into his chest? Did we not see Zeus distracting him with his lightning, preventing him from properly countering Ares' axe? Also, are we going to ignore that Wonder Woman killed a still weakened Ares? Saying that Darkseid has already lost this because Wonder Woman killed a weakened version of the god that handed him his ass during his prime seems like major coping in an effort to stroke the ego of someone who is just objectively wrong about everything of substance he says.

@@Atheismo9760 Okay, so you're telling me Artemis hitting with her arrows, Zeus distracting him with his lightning to set him up for a lethal strike from Ares didn't happen. That this combo attack from three god's did not happen. You're just lying to yourself or lying to me to cope. That or you don't know that a combo attack can take place from multiple different people working together with singular powerful attacks. Either way, your objection is stupid. Also, the Darkseid you know clearly doesn't exist because he gets into fights and gets hurt by other god's all the time. Also what is this mere god shit? You do know that Darkseid is a god, they just call themselves new as a designation of being born from the cataclysm that destroyed the old. There isn't anything really different about Darkseid from other gods. He needs prayer and faith to keep him in power, he lives in his own sphere of existence like the other god's, he can project an image of himself into other universes... he has all the characteristics that make him no different than any other deity in the DC multiverse. Either way, the character you're talking about is Uxes, not Darkseid. He didn't take up the mantle yet and hasn't consolidated his power as of that point. So him getting KO'd like this makes total sense anyways. The fact that you didn't identify that in the first place indicates you know jack and shit and nothing about Darkseid.

Yeah, watching this is even more proof for some random dude on the internet that he's right. Snyder is a visual genius, but for story telling? not so much. I still wonder to this day who tf saw watchmen and went "This 'super hero' movie directer is perfect for our superman!" I really like Zack's DC movies, but the more I think about it, the worse it gets. Like when superman's dad telling Clark to not help him from the tornado for example, it looks really cool and gave me goosebump the first time I watched, but it gets really stupid when I think about it more.

The biggest one I can think of at the moment is the parts that have to do with Aquaman. Mera, in the Synder Cut, talks with a British accent, but an American one in Aquaman. It is revealed that the Atlantians have their own language underwater that come off in high pitch squeaks and shrieks. Yet, in Aquaman, they can speak normally in water as they do on land. I think they were trying to set up that Arthur couldn't communicate with the Atlantians because he never learned their ways, but it's torn down when they speak normally in the next film. It also mentions that King Orm was dealing with rebels against Atlantis, but in Aquaman, that doesn't begin until Orm starts "uniting" the other kingdoms of the sea. Just a few things I mentioned, but there is quite more within the movie that would have contradicted the other movies following Justice League, should WB decide to make this canon.

So glad I found this video. I liked Whedon's Justice League when it came out, not because of anything particularly great about it but simply because we were getting the Justice League on the big screen, finally. Then I heard about the controversies behind the scenes and saw the promo material for Zack Snyder's Justice League and figured this film would be better. And I genuinely believed it was. I was never a fan of dark Superman. And I was always curious how a revived Superman would explain Clark Kent's revival and how they would forgive Superman post-Knightmare once Darkseid was likely beaten and the world saved. I never liked how willing Superman and Batman were to kill. Wonder Woman and Aquaman, I get killing people. They were raised as warriors. Superman and Batman aim to save as many lives as possible. I needed this criticism. Neither cut of the film does the characters justice and Darkseid perhaps suffered the worst nerf in history. Snyder's vision was too limited, dedicating a trilogy to purely fighting Darkseid and evil Superman, never mind an expanded DC universe. I have faith James Gunn and Peter Safran will rectify these mistakes and give us the DC adaptation we deserve and one that honours the source material.

[heck based on how she killed Ares she might even be able to deflect ‘the Unity’ back at the bad guys.] In the comics she has deflected DarkSeid zig zag beam. Lol. Cyborg controls all the Nukes and could certainly destroy SteppenWolf’s base - since Batman does it with one missile and nothing but basic satellite intel, which isn’t in the same league with Cyborg’s walking Skynet. And then, there was Superman. All the heroes are overpowered. Not fun to anyone other than little boys playing with dolls.

Do Joss and Zach really both write those police officers to be *that* stupid that they can't figure-out Clark and Superman are the same person? And expect us to also believe Lois, too, is completely stupid for calling him by his human name in public at full volume. /Siiiigh...

He is completely wrong about Endgame though - he doesn't even get that Endgame Thanos is *not* the same Thanos and is not supposed to be because Endgame is not trying to be a sequel to Infinity War which is what he wanted it to be. You need to understand Infinity War and Endgame this way: -> Infinity War Thanos wins - and dies - since he believes in death - his death is his destiny and victory. -> Endgame is the story of what the heroes do with their lives once they realize they've lost the one fight that mattered. *It's not more of the same Thanos - which is what Mauler specifically stated he wanted.* But that's not what the filmmakers wanted. Endgame is a better film than Infinity War and it has deeper themes by far. This is even more clear now that MCU has spent 3 years floundering with no direction (MOM, Eternals and NWH are all disasters)- not unlike the heroes who lost in Infinity War. It's like they are all playing Fortnite with Newbmaster 69, in order to forget the pain. (Bro Thor was brilliant - even if he went over the heads of some 'fans'), because if they were honest with themselves they would admit that they are out of ideas and begin openly weeping. lol MCU doesn't know what to do next. That's clear.

Hello Mr. Scientist with a secret death wish? - Since the Unity they are creating means gathering the parademons into a gigantic *defensive energy dome* - then how hard would that be to find regardless of box heat? - Batman can detect heat from a box by satellite *inside the alien energy dome* which you can see from space - but he can’t figure out that this weird alien dome is where the boxes are at? - He sees’ the death dome from space -and analyzes it’s weakness in two seconds.... [cuz Death Star with a flaw must be done more times than Martha and her pearls] - but this couldn’t be done without Silas microwaving a box. A box that will be *inside* the dome, which you can see and analyze...from space? 😂 It’s like there is not a shred of common sense in Snyder or Terrio and they have likewise targeted the film at morons.

@That’s one smug wojak Well it doesn't make you smart. I think Snyder's Superman movies are like guilty pleasures for me like Superman 3 and Batman Forever they're not good films same with the resident evil movies they are good bad movies but if you think they are great movies in the League no pun intended as the greatest movies ever made aka masterpiece then you are a dumb person. It doesn't make you a bad person hey you might be really intelligent in other subjects like Mechanics, economics, engineering, playing bongos to Metallica songs etc etc but when it comes to movies or writing you aren't well versed. Hey I can't play musical instruments or know anything about structural engineering, Doctor Who or anime and I don't claim to or explain who the best Doctor is or best Anime series is as I'm ignorant of those things which is ok.

@@summertyme5748 You forgot something; the laser heats the mother box to a temperature of 3.5 million degrees kelvin. Do you have any idea how hot that is? According to google the surface of the Sun is 5,778 degrees Kelvin. And Steppenwolf just grabs it, but Superman's eye lasers cut off his horn.

A few things that you probably missed: 1.Where did Flash go during the climax seconds after he gave Victor the charge? 2.Why didn’t Darkseid come through portal, at all? If he knows he can so easily do it, why not just make it so and establish that the New Gods not aligned with Apokolops might go after him if he tries to go after the Anti-Life Equation, or make it so that the Anti-Life Equation is weakened and/or inaccessible by the New Gods somehow, which is why Darkseid hasn’t arrived, yet, or at least make it so that The Anti-Life equation is something he is immune to and has other equally or more important goals? 3.Why didn’t Batman check up on Superman when he was with Lois so he can have an emotional heart-to-heart with him, which would have at least slightly improved the movie and made a moment up there with one of the best character moments in Joss’s version of Justice League? 4.Cyborg could have been the Second Coming Of Christ with his powers in the Snyder Cut because of how overpowered. He has so much knowledge and technological powers on Earth that he could have eradicated most of if not all of the scum on Earth, fixed the Web and removed horrible shit from the Internet, and bring about unity and stop human rights violations, even if his power his unethical. He should have had an arc about him becoming much more heroic, but not in a Mary Sue way, but as a desire to help the world in its entirety, and greatly improving the future, or at the very least, have an arc about relinquishing this power because he believes he’s not worthy of it outside of last resorts and that he believes it could corrupt and/or overwhelm physically and mentally him, but still having powerful abilities to at least save the world, like how he should keep his building destroying lasers and actually use them to consistently save the world.
