    Cool! You need to try to make it run some 1bit chiptunes from ZX scene while I'll go and ask Yerzmyey if he knows about it ;-)

    If you follow the link in the description, you'll learn that's about the plan, a bit more creative though. Running existing ZX Spectrum 1-bit engines there is easy.

    These things use software-driven display multiplexing, and they weren't much reliable. So if Z80 gets a freeze by some reason, like a power spike, only one digit remains on, at constant full bright. As it is a phone, if no one at home, it could spend days in such state, and a digit would be to burn out. It was a common issue with these.

    @@shiru8bit Interesting. I guess the only AON Z80 phones without the occasional burned-out digit are ones that were either incredibly lucky or barely in service if at all.

    @@theocgaming9433 yep. Every single unit I have got a digit burned out to a degree.
