I am impressed. This has all the demo tropes using nothing but 8 segment display. Mad lads, every one.

One of the most beautiful chiptunes iv'e ever seen.. The old display, The one-bit techno, the cute animations..

Much more enjoyable than I thought it would be! I would love to take this back in time and sit it in front of an unsuspecting victim! "Can someone call IT? My phone is possessed!"

Шикардос! Да телефоны РУСЬ и без всяких демок были бомбические. Там СТОЛЬКО Фич было, что я больше нигде не встречал таких извратов. Можно было даже настраивать параметры импульсного набора, выбирая длительность и частоту импульсов. Про управление контакт листом я вообще молчу. Списки всех цветов, разные звуки на контакты, вплоть до задачи звуков по маске. Огонь аппарат был.

Я лайфхакил тем, что импульсный набор подбирал по скорости набора чтобы АТС поняла. Калькулятор, метроном, всего и не упомнить, было аппаратов 5 за всю жизнь.

Gish не были эти аппараты клонами западной или японской техники. Там все своё было, кроме корпусов. Слишком многое завязано на наши сети. Они и в массу то пошли после ряда публикаций в журнале радио или подобных. Когда любители их начали на zx собирать. Ну, а кто-то довёл это потом до того чем стали аппараты Русь и Пульсар

Если когда-либо роботы будут править миром, надеюсь, они оценят данный артефакт, созданный с любовью, по достоинству. И ответят человеку также любовью и уважением.

Помню этот аппарат, функционал был просто потрясающий, даже нынешние смартфоны позавидуют. Но управление всем этим хозяйством было "в духе времени", крайне затруднено ограниченными возможностями семисегментника. Подобные эффекты сейчас можно увидеть во встроенном демо некоторых автомагнитол с подобными дисплеями. "Русь" очень долго обходилась восьмёрочным индикатором, только сравнительно недавно появились аппараты с текстовыми и графическими дисплеями.

Brilliant. I was brought here by your habr blog. I was always fascinated how are games able to produce sound and still have time to run a code. I decided to find out and code something myself (I did, though I didn't create any music myself but rather used actual piano sheets). You know what the sounds remind me of? It reminds me a little bit of Murder By Phone (also known as Bells and The Calling) which was an 80s horror sci-fi movie about a Phone Company employee that invented a device that kills people when they answer their telephones by sending out a crazy pulse noise. Due to the sounds that it produces at the beginning it almost sounds like it got a signal that made it go crazy and it’s about to blow up!

Hello Shiru, I commented on 8-bit Guy’s most recent video about how Bisqwit could’ve made the tracker. You responded to me asking me “Can you name any trackers he’s made”, you asking this directly took me off guard to say the least. After rereading the phrasing of my comment and realising how it must’ve looked for you, I deleted it as it was phrased in a way that seemed to be undermining your work, abilities and know-how (it sounded like I was saying Bisqwit could’ve done it *better*, when I meant that he could’ve done it *instead* from the get-go. I was mostly just saying that he would’ve been amazing at it). Now, I’m an idiot because it took me a minute to realise that I couldn’t respond now that the comment was gone. I should preface this by saying that I in no way meant to understate your abilities, you are most definitely very talented (and clearly quite passionate) and I apologise if my comment came across in any way hurtful. I was merely following up on a comment that I had left on the last Planet X3 update video where I said he should get Bisqwit to program the modtracker. Now, onto the answer, I personally can’t *name* the modtrackers because Bisqwit rarely names his stuff (with actual names anyway). As for what you meant, you can download his trackers from him but you won’t have seen any of them before (he hasn’t worked on any well known modtrackers) and as he has said before, he is never usually concentrating on designing UI’s. However, he has made several modtrackers for a variety of soundcards which you could download the source code for and use if you wanted to (it has been a *long* time since he worked on any of them though). Anyway, that’s about it. Sorry for making this comment as long as it is, I just wanted to get all relevant information in there. Thanks for your time

This was fantastic! Great job with the music! I wanted to check out PCSPE, but unfortunately it didn't run in FL Studio (it simply crashes the DAW).

@@shiru8bit I looked a bit more into it! I didn't realize PCSPE was 64-bit, and using a 64-bit DAW fixes it! Is it possible to make a 32-bit build of it, by any chance?

@@zanzlanz, I don't even know how to build a 64-bit VST, and I'm only using 32-bit DAWs and VSts due to compatibility reasons (99% of VSTs I'm using is old and don't have 64-bit versions). So I guess your issue is in fact the other way around, you need a 64-bit PCSPE build?

​@@shiru8bit Ohh what, that's really weird then! I use FL Studio in 32-bit for compatibility reasons too (can't use soundfonts in the 64-bit version). I can't explain why the 32-bit DAW doesn't work with the plugin.

Идея задействовать MIDI-синтезатор из 28-ой конечно возникла сразу, было бы очень прикольно применить его для написания новой музыки. Но проблема в том, что он там полностью программный (!). Это надо дизассемблировать прошивку, разбираться в коде синтезатора, и/или писать эмулятор 8051. Довольно сложная затея. Но возможно со временем дойдут руки и до неё.

Я знаком с ПМК очень поверхностно. Думаю, что-то очень простое сделать можно, но длина программы на этих ПМК очень ограничена, и это главная трудность. На более продвинутых зарубежных собратьях типа HP-41 жить попроще и попытки были: hype.retroscene.org/blog/dev/1051.html
