    Hi Maria, a latest method to make dried beans, nuts cook faster, invented by the Taiwanese. Wash and soak the beans/ nuts then put them with water in the freezer for 24 hrs. Remove and drop it into the water and boil for 10 mins. Off the fire and stand for 1/2 hr. Repeat until the beans are tender. The Cantonese used to add in a handful or some rice when soak the red beans. As I told you before I'm a lazy lady, I cook red beans, some rice -- soaked for hrs,陳皮 and sugar in pressure cooker.

    If you double the ingredients, that makes double the amount? That's alright to do? Does it refrigerate well? Tangerine peel-- is that from a fresh tangerine fruit? Or different (dried peel)?

  • @wantanmien

    @wantanmien

    10 жыл бұрын

    Yes, if you double the ingredients that makes double the amount. You can eat it hot or cold, when the soup left over put it in fridge for to-morrow. Please. Tangerine peel is dried mandarin peel ( Xinhui mandarin ). Have a nice day ^^

    Mandarin and tangerine are very similar fruits. Drying their peel may concentrate their flavour - it was used in the past to store the peel for a longer time - but I think the end result is the same.
