Honest im such a mega one piece fan i started watching in 2014 and I just can't I always wanted to see how sanjis food would have tasted or what I would feel if sanji cooked a meal for me seeing these videos of you trying to recreate my childhood just makes me soooo happy

I'm so glad you like it! Seeing sanji cook was one of the main motivations for me making this channel too, it always looked so amazing

Voice is soothing, music is calming.

Fun Fact: that way of cooking Mochi/rice cakes, is called Palitaw in the Philippines. It literally translates "to float", because of the floating movement of the rice cake when it's cooked. The only difference is that the Philippine rice cake uses water instead of milk.

My only opposition is putting milk in the rice dumpling; that's because in many East Asian cuisine, the use of milk is rare (it is associated more with South Asia; SE Asia would use coconut milk) Of course, one can argue this is not even mochi. Norminally, actual Japanese mochi/Rice cake would be used, which are made by pounding boiled rice. However, not everyone can get Japanese Rice cake. So what this video is actually making is closer to Korean "Dan-patjuk", which does use dumplings Glutinous rice flour -- and also, no milk. I will not recommend substitue it with korean rice cake, as it is even less chewy than rice dumblings. It will taste good in its own right, but even further from Shiruko.

@@AttackonCuisine Happens. I double checked Wikipedia, and even there they do state "with glutinous rice flour dumplings instead of mochi." TBF, while mochi in Oshiroku are nominally rice cake made from poundign steamed rice, Daifuku (considered as stuffed Mochi) is made with rice flour instead... and even made-in-home mochi are made with mochiko instead. Hence it is the milk that feels odd and not the use of rice flour dumpling. It may be an improvement to account for the less stringiness of mochiko-based mochi (mochi made in traditional method can stretch like mozzarella cheese)

Where I come from beans are part of a HEAVY dinner food with spices, potatoes flakes and tomatoes sauce served with white rice or cooked with it, never seen beans used as sweet candy 🤣 . Weird but I'd still try it. 🤔
