You Won't Believe This Extreme Furniture Makeover of Trash to Treasure Dresser

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

You MUST see this Extreme Dresser Makeover- Amazing Transformation! Dresser Saved From The Trash! Trash to Treasure.
This is an amazing transformation of a dresser destined for the trash! Extreme Makeover of Dresser.
I believe few would have not even tried! I guess I saw something special in this old lady because I went to work and completely repaired it to better than new.
*I used a Rustoleum Smokey Glaze on the top
*Repaired the damaged drawer
* Filled-in the old, out-dated carving on the doors
*Replaced the ugly drawer pulls with sleek new knobs
*Repaired the nasty, gross, water damaged top that had more bubbles than good particle board left
*Repaired the damaged top where the particle board separated
*Replaced a piece of missing trim between the two center drawers (What's up with that? How did THAT go missing?)
*New primer, 2 fresh coats of chalk paint and 3-4 coats of water based polyurethane.
Wew! It took awhile to get it all finished but it certainly looks great.
This dresser was so popular when I posted it on Facebook Marketplace that I had 10 people wanting to buy it!!!
After I sold it, I had a lady come and pick out another unfinished dresser in my inventory and paid me to refinish it just like this one! Obviously customers like this seafoam green paint with the smokey glaze top.

This is absolutely beautiful. I have an old computer desk that looks very similar to this with the damage. It was given to me for free since they were going to throw it in the dumpster. We were thinking about adding flooring to the top of the desk (since my husband sells flooring) but after coming across your video I believe I will use your method. Absolutely gorgeous makeover

Amazing transformation. Skipped through the top since I watched that entire video. That is a close color match to the paint I bought for my old Fr provincial laminate that I bought. I bought the Joanne Gaines latex paint in semi gloss and am going to use the technique that you presented to make the top look like wood. The whole thing is waiting for me to put the second layer of oil based primer. I’m doing it in a bedroom so I have to move the bed and put cardboard over the carpet. I just moved into my new home so I don’t want to mess it up too badly. I can’t work in the garage since the outside temperature is in the teens to 30s!

Your videos are so informative! The dresser turned out to be beautiful. LOL. I use those paint stirrers all the time! Usually to frame out a drywall hole to hold a new piece, then tape, mud, prime and paint. I usually use an expensive brand of of auto Bondo called Rage Filler on wood furniture. I'll have to try the Platinum.

Love paint stirrers. They’re made of good quality wood, you can do all sorts of things with them and they’re free or cheap. Lots of great innovative repairs in that piece and it turned out beautifully. Thanks for the safety tip re: respirator usage along with the one in the previous video about the smell test. Newbies need to know these things and I’ve only heard you mention them. I would add a caution about a 6 week service life of the cartridges once the package is opened. Let us know how long it took you and what you got for it.

I want to do this to a buffet when I find one for our Sunroom, but will go with something to go with Navy, our sectional will either be navy or dark or medium grey when we find a set. OH, DEAR LORD..... I need this video... husband was going to put a new bedroom set on our almost maxed-out credit card... I said, NO, just fix what we have ( which is just as ugly as that ugly ducking you made pretty, with a lot of weird design indents and bubbles, just ugly ugly ugly). He said we can't fix laminate/particle board furniture. I'm going to have him watch this video.. DUH..... Thank you for putting out great content!!! Oh, I have a question!!! The side of the dresser has a thin layer "laminate"? That is peeling off... Do we use same technique as the bubbles?

Over fill!!! yes,.. I have seen flippers fill hardware holes, dents and scratches, sand, and you can still see where the old marks were under the paint in the before and afters, if you just overfill and sand it off that won't happen..
