You've Had It A Roy Orbison lost Track from 1957
Музыка
I would like to thank the owner of this recording for sharing this sampling with our channel so that other fans can enjoy a long-lost piece from Roy Orbison's catalog. The song written by Roy and Norman Petty in 1957 has been speculated about for the last 65 years with many believing that Roy had never actually made a recording of it or that it was a possible re-working of the Roy Orbison & Johnny Wilson tune I've Had It. We can now say with confidence that neither is true. My research shows that the song was recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis on 20 August 1957 and through my correspondence with Sun Records they have confirmed that no master recording exists. There is no rarer find than a completely unheard song and this is by far not the only discovery made within the last few years so be sure to like and subscribe and turn on notifications to get the latest up to date information.

Given that the Estate seems to have little interest in issuing the unreleased material they already have I doubt they would put any money into this song.

@@royorbisonpreservationsoci8103 That's really disappointing.
It really is a great find this one, I'd never heard this before. I'm just wondering now, is this the same song that Johnny "Peanuts' Wilson put on record (see ACE's "West Texas Bop" CDCHD 699 CD from 1999? Pace is quite different..

Rene de Bruin this is a completely different song than I've Had It which was recorded by Johnny "Peanuts" Wilson.

@@renedebruin963 There are roughly around 600 unreleased Orbison tracks. Of that number I can't say how many are actually completed because that may include songs written by Roy but never recorded as well as different songs in various stages of development or production. So, there are many things that are left that remain unheard. We can only hope that the Estate will eventually release those.
;-)
Will the whole piece be released?

I'm afraid that is a question I can't answer. I do not own the acetate and it has taken me months of negotiation to acquire the short clip I've uploaded. I do however understand the reasoning behind why the owner does not want to share the full song at least online and that's because they know people will download it and claim it as something they themselves found and sell copies to other unsuspecting fans for profit. In that regard they don't want anyone to be taken advantage of in that way. Hopefully the right people will come along with the desire to release it rather than someone acquiring it and sticking it in a vault somewhere never to seen or heard of again.
