You can see a hundred different emotions come through Denzel and he didn’t say a word.Truly outstanding actor.

When he sheds that first tear, that's when he realizes he ain't eva gonna truly be free. INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE!!

That stare and eyes that Denzel was giving the ranking officer...was going to haunt him the rest of his life.

Denzel is amazing. His process included the years of suffering, the helplessness to react, and the betrayal, all these seen through his eyes. Amazing if you draw contexts.

You should watch: The Book of Eli. The Equalizer... two movies Denzel is a brilliant superb actor. I also love the fact that his movies are " clean," I mean no female nudity, as far as I am aware.

Absolutely one of the most moving scenes ever caught on film.

Two of my favorite actors are Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. Both have extreme talent as well as being good human beings. Keep up the good work gentlemen I’ll be watching.

He stood for so many when he did that scene- Amazing Actor.

One of the greatest actor of the world. Nothing like him. We are lucky that living in the era of watching Denzel Washington.

Denzel and Morgan freeman still remind us the gifts of talent by god to humans. They are superb in whatever role they play. Hats off from India to both gentlemen.

That tear represents two things: the eking out of the physical pain, and the pain of social betrayal. Cary Elwes set up for us, and even Mulcahy didn't really want to do it...but being the true soldier that he was, orders were orders.

I love USA history! that is the best movie ever! and Denzel bean a young actor, you could see what a great feature he was cooking! I enjoyed every minute of this movie! the best cast!

Gosh... brilliant scene that is.

I was whipped that way by an uncle when I was 9, not 20 something. I kept with same stoic silent attitude. I couldn't avoid some tears dropped after a while. Meanwhile all my aunts looking. Until now I regretted the few tears, thinkning that was the weakness of a child.

I have scars all over from my Dad's belt buckle. A few from his pocket knife when he had flashbacks. It's all good though.

When I saw Denzel's character being whipped somehow I controlled my emotions. When I realised that he had actually broke camp only to search for some cotdamed shoes I broke down........ I thought of the pain, humiliation and suffering that my ancestors went through...All of that was brought back by this high quality of acting....
