That's the key to every action scene though, why do these guys always so conveniently stand right next to him with a gun? Did none of these bad guys see raiders of the lost ark?...stand away from him and aim!

Seeing a child capable of murder while also realizing that he himself is a man capable of murdering a child was such a fucked up display of humanity that he just wanted to leave the world right then and there. By far the most powerful moment in the trilogy.

To add to that, I think it shows his foresight. I believe McCall firing off all the remaining rounds in his pistol was deliberate act once he (very quickly) realizes the kid is the only possible shooter -- not only to put on a show to scare the kid into running, but to keep McCall's muscle memory from killing the kid when he turned around.

Washington is a class act. He loves his family, stays out of the tabloids, is very religious, but plays these deep dark trouble characters. And, he does it so well.

John Wick is awesome. But the slow, heavy, foreboding scenes of silence and suspense here for the first 4 minutes in this Equalizer trailer are legendary. This is what real cinema should be about. Nobody needs to say anything. No action, no fighting. The silence does the work. Wow. What a heavy opening.

About John Wick, I don't like 3 and 4 episodes because of their unreality in action, hundreds kills by only one man it's just unbelievable ! In Equalizer the actions are believable !

This is probably one of the best beginnings of a action movie of all ti've never seen anything like this in any other action move... When he pulled up it was like they was Taking him to go see the devil. I thought this was a horror movie the way the beginning started, this is cinematic gold.

What I like about the equalizer trilogy is that the protagonist doesn’t really need to just run in guns blazing instead he uses inventive tactics to kill his enemies and come to think of it he doesn’t rely on guns to much he uses other things he’s like a scary action hero

His character is inhuman. It's possible there are people trained to the extent to where they can kill this efficiently but It's hard to believe anyone can actually do things even similar to this. Maybe a few guys in the most elite special forces the world has to offer or some secret team of individuals trained by the government to be absolute killing machines.

And that's why I don't like these movies. In real life he'd get wrecked by a real cartel yet in the movies he's portrayed as being well above a top level hitman. Like the dude literary is portrayed having this all seeing eye bullshit that allows him to see in the future or whatever so corny. Denzel is one of a kind generational talent. The fact he left a trail of bodies and as the other criminals walk up he’s just causally and calmly cleaning his hands and his ring is a different level of savagery.

It's eerie how cold and methodical McCall is when he's "at work." It really emphasizes the intensity and depth of his unique skills as an assassin.

You can enjoy the film, the same way one enjoys Santa at Xmas…We all know it’s fantasy and it’s ridiculous…Talking about this film as you are is like trying to figure out how fast the fat man has to fly his sleigh to deliver gifts to 4 billion children and then discussing what an amazing job he did. It’s not as bad as Taken 2 and 3, but not as good as John Wick, as that series at least plays off itself as almost a parody, using glaring comic-book style violence and dialogue. Like Taken, this film wants to make you believe an overweight 70 year old is a super assassin who can kill dozens of heavily armed and trained men, using only a stop watch. Really suspends that disbelief…Ffs…

"He's a foot too close"...when I was in Recon (1st/2nd Battalion Recon, not Force Recon) in The Corps just after Vietnam, ended we had some specialized interrogation training and the Gentleman doing the training was a Marine Force Recon vet. who was working for the Agency at the time. I still remember him telling us that for anyone you suspect may be highly trained who doesn't have their feet and hands (behind their back) restrained...to always keep a minimum of 8 feet, he preferred 10, of distance when you are armed, as even a highly trained person can't close the distance of 8/10 feet before your brain registers he is coming and raise your at-the-ready firearm and kill him before he takes your weapon and kills you with it.

It's crazy, this actor only plays with classy looks at all levels. He is unique as an actor. forest Whitaker has this talent too.

8:03 and i love it.....

The whole body reflex and spaming the gun when he got shot was very... accurate and a nice touch. We just finished two last night. Number 3 today.

Music, movements, everything was beautiful in this scene

For the longest time I thought the first 2 Equalizers were middle of the pack action movies at best, but I absolutely loved the 3rd one and I genuinely think it's one of the best action movies of all time by virtue of the acting, the soundtrack and the atmosphere.

Exactly my feeling. The least "action" in a traditional sense in the entire series but this was a different vibe. Made Robert feel like a horror movie character.

Idk about soundtrack .. it had a few sounds from the first two movies in the soundtrack but I think the first two have better soundtracks.. but I think this one is still really good however I’m aware this was the only one not composed by Harry Gregson so I respect it

@@ThePolkadotPresserso true man, 3 rd equlizer has 2-3 standouts, while Harry Gregson Williams nailed each even int he first two movies. I was hugely disappointed with the 3part soundtrack to be honest, didn’t feel like it was Equlizer movie without tunes by Gregson Williams

The whole video is just fantastic, but what really had me smiling was his face expression and “Okay” at 8:52-8:54 as he checked out his surroundings. A pretty hilarious moment in a dark setting. 😅

This is such a spiritual movie. The spiritual warfare is intense. First of all we can not deny his visionary gift but more importantly, notice how he never lies. Everything he says is true in this scene. The man he’s facing however, he’s blind by pride that is why he basks in his apparent “capture” instead of just killing the threat. Notice how Denzel shoots him in his butt and taps the gun; because he’s a man of honor and gives his receivers of retribution the right to see who enacts it. But it’s more deep than that too - notice that Denzel never takes pleasure from this or enjoys it. It’s just business. It’s just the right thing to do.

The crouching down and just staring was beast mode! Love me some Denzel!

Everything he does is pure genius, brilliant actor, lovely person

Denzel has really turned it on in his later years. He was always good but in his later years, he’s just fantastic.

One of the finest actor in the world in all aspects & also a very good human being.

I will watch anything Denzel is in. One of the GOATs!

@@BoxStudioExecutive I guess you have to be careful not to say that he trusted that the boy understood that there was no need for further hostility between them. Or trusting in the boys innocence. But letting your guard down comes from trust. I'm assuming his experience led him to that trust, just like his experience is letting him read everyone else he encounter. Even though the boy didn't agree (evidently), there could still have been a reasonable expectation of how to behave.

One of the best one so far :D Really sets the tone for the rest of the movie, super calculated, both switch in this deadly purpose mode the moment he says you have 9 seconds.

Bad thing the movie later has no such cool sequences as this one… thriller movie with like 5 mins of action is wrong ( and I’m a huge Equaliser fan but this part was levels below first two sadly)

The techniques Denzel uses here were my bread and butter when I worked field missions. My commando kung fu navy seal jiu-jitsu special ops ninja bruce lee james bond delta force samurai training never let me down.

The best actor ever...no one can come close..

It's the freaking dead eyes to me. Like there's no soul left to regret anything on this planet. Outstanding acting.

As an italian I am proud that mafia has been defeated in a lot of movies.

There is only one way to describe this scene … very, very creative.

9:00 Was an excellent clip to me, i believe that he totally knew who shot him and he's able to kill the the shooter easily, but knowing who the shooter is, he stopped himself by shooting all the bullets in the air, then turned back to the boy shooter and let him run away, very great character writing from this detail, not just a cold blood skilled assassin, he still have the line that he will never cross, so he'll always remain who he is and that's why he's so respectful. I might be wrong too that that was just panic warning shot in the air due to his professional reflection but i believe the former thought.

This is a great film.......nice photography of Italy and of course Denzel and his vengeance. It is a satisfying conclusion to the previous two films. Denzel's Equalizer is in the same kind of vein like Matt Damon's Bourne Identity or Keanu Reeves John Wick. Also, a nod to the long-ago Charles Bronson films.

Can we get an equalizer prequel with his son playing a young version of this bad ass character 😅

Antoine Fuqua hizo una trilogía magnífica al lado de Denzel Washington, un gran Director y un excelente actor nos han regalado tres maravillosas películas de acción que aunque violentas nos permiten reflexionar en el sentido de la justicia, y eso es lo que me gusta.

Denzel Washington is a great actor. I've enjoyed watching every movie he's been in.

Anything Denzel, I click. Talk about just one of the best actor's of our lifetime. When I was watching his interaction with that boy, I was telling myself, don't turn your back.

This is one of the most BAD-ASS escape shootout scenes I ever saw. Never seen anything like it. Really appreciate the originality.

The reason I'm so into this film is because of the "watch" thing where he sets it and kill everyone. Sadly, we don't get enough of it in this Part 3. The Part 1 is still the best. But, I've enjoyed it all and Denzel is such a great actor.

@@maximusfl3926that rules about 95% of films shown at the cinema out for you then, how boring that must be for you. I go with an open mind to see each iteration in isolation, watching the character build.

I tell you that, im italian, and if is really Denzel to talk italian in this scene, he talk italian so much better of any other actor see on "inglorious bastards". I understand everything he say, and he say in the very right way. Bravissimo, non a caso è uno dei migliori attori al mondo. Lo adoro.

and he takes unbelievable care of our veterans!!!! truly a patriot! respect!

I love those short but intense fighting scenes.

The way McCall acts on this movie when he is killing mode is like a true scary monster. He moves slowly, imposing sort of like Jason Voorhes or Mike Meyers and he just looks at his victims with the same dispassionate stare. I said it before and I say it here "A monster that gives monsters nightmares".

Yeah, that was my takeaway too. In the other two movies, the carnage seemed like self defense or vengeance. McCall has a real psychopath quality in this one.

@@mc76 Well it's not as if he is not psychopathic in the other ones, he is, the thing is that he is a FUNCTIONAL psychopath and he knows it. Hence he is always trying to better himself, trying to not kill unless he has no other choice. This is what we see when he is reading a book, talking to himself or his dead wife. Remember Susan from the first and second movies, she was not just his CO but also his handler as well as his friend and his late wife's. His horrible side was actually seen on the second movie when he kills Pedro Pascal's character, as the latter's last look is into McCall's eyes and they have NO reflection, no soul, a pure monster indeed and that was where it was revealed clearly before this movie.
