I enjoyed the symbolism here at the end. He says we all have to face death eventually. Instead of facing him after cutting his bonds he ran as McCall followed him like Death, waiting patiently till the end. "A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once. It seems to me most strange that men should fear, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come." ― William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar Proving that even in death Vincent was a coward.

Really shows the duality of human nature and how someone who might be your worst nightmare is a damn teddy bear for someone else, very true to life. I like how in this film compared to the other two this one is a Horror film the music everything makes McCall out to be not an avenger or a hero (to be fair none of the film really do that but this one really sent it home.) he is a MONSTER by every definition when he first kills that mafioso kid he is smiling as he avoids his attacks before putting his own knife through his throat, at the start of the film he says something so simple "He wouldn't let me in so...he should have let me in" even a trained killer does not go to killing literally everyone as his first option for someone not letting him in to get what he wants that is someone who LOVES killing people does after he walks out he nearly ends his own life knowing that his first thought when that kid shot him was to kill that kid who looks no older than 10 maybe 12 tops. Then here he revels in inflicting fear on this guy he sings tunes and casually follows him until he finally dies then eats an apple and walks away as if nothing ever happened. TLDR: This film out of three is just straight up a horror film with how everything is done.
