These films are the embodiment of the quote : Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young. Old warriors did not get old by accident; they got old by being wise, having the right knowledge, and being tough. Never underestimate an old man who has grown up in a rough profession or a rough environment. These men have been around. They have done things, and experienced things, that you probably have never even thought about. They are tough, their minds are tough, and they have the knowledge, the skill, and the will to finish you off, if you force them to do so. A boy will fight you, but a older man will hurt you. ( I love that these films are the only ones Denzel cared personally enough about to do a series of. He has refused all sequels of any of his other work. )

Terry Pratchett would right “always remember rule one.” What’s rule one? If you have an army, and you’re armed to the teeth, and in front of you is one little old man smiling, run screaming, he’s about to end you.

throughout the 3 movies I gotta say, the scariest ive seen mcCall, to the point you'd think it was a horror movie, was when he killed Marco in Equalizer 3.... the way he broke his arm and twisted that thing all the way around to have Marco stab himself with his own knife, the way he forces him to look mcCall in his eyes. that face at that moment... holy sht. Denzel is the ONLY actor id legitimately believe if I heard "he has been places and done things". just that dead look in his eyes. the way he turns from a caring smiling man to the embodiment of the Grim Reaper is insane. the music score playing during the Marco kill is very subtle but very telling too, how it goes from sounding like a big fight is about to start to those strings and choir just dropping down and it starting to sound like a horror track. awesomeness

The younger action stars tend to get roles that rely heavily on their physicality, and usually recycle tired tropes. Save the damsel, avenge the fridged love etc, these older action stars are getting better roles IMO, interesting characters with deep backgrounds. They can easily get the underdog status too, so you get that juicy pay off when they go full badass. That said some younger actors are doing good action movies, Extraction with Chris Hemsworth was solid, Michael B Jordan in the Creed films too. I think the fault lies more with producers than the actors.

That’s why sometimes mentioning +18, Rate xyz, etc … Now movies are more dangerous to families and scare about my son if a child or even teenagers see things like these and instead of saving himself (And others if possible) safely, what could happen???
