No the Uke is not being hurt . Yes a smaller guy can use it on a bigger guy this is actually much better smaller vs bigger ,it is one of my "big guy throws " . Arkadi is an excellent instructor and has produced many VERY GOOD players , What you have to understand is that not all the throws you see on youtube are always the favorite techniques of the instructor showing them . These are supposed to promote Judo. Not scare people. Actually, one of the first things we teach is how to defend oneself against injuries while in action. These guys know how to fall and prevent themself from any injury, but sometime injuries happen.

matěj Med Young for it too. I've met(and been taught by, at a training camp) one red and white belt: Jan de Jong, 9th dan Ju Jutsu. He was 77 when I met him, died 5 years later.

This throw don"t cause so big damageThe throw I fear is Sode because sometimes Tori doesn"t let go one of your sleeves and you can"t do a good ukemi.
