“The cello is my friend.” I believe it. Yo Yo Ma is the best.
I’ve listened to this man my entire life, and yet, this is the first time I’m hearing him speak.
One of the best interviews I’ve ever heard. Yo Yo is such a special human being and musician with so much to share. Thank you Zane for allowing a space for Mr. Ma to be heard.
This is the kind of stuff I want to see Zane talking about. With great artists who aren’t just dropping hip hop stuff right NOW. Let’s hear what the legends of different genres have to say
Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin at Carnegie Hall in NYC was my first concert of my life. I remember getting tickets under the XMas tree and I sobbed as a 10-year old. At 26, I still feel the same way. He has truly inspired and shaped the backbone of music, joining the greats like Miles Davis, Theonius Monk and so many more.
Yo Yo Ma is og incredible, and has been just a genuine actually down-to-earth good person for forever now, and actually animated and exhibits emotion lol, which is very pleasant. Awesome interview.
the camera work and editing is so good! kudos to whoever did it
yo yo ma has such calming voice
Theme of humility. Lovely man. Master of his instrument.
Yo-Yo Ma, 30+ years in the game. love the conversation and the ability to articulate process. very insightful. tired of listening to new artist clout chase and money grab.
Maestro is a delight. So is his wife.. great guy in person and to chauffeur for.

I love this man not just for his talent but mostly because he is quite simply a genuine, humble and loving human being. I imagine he does have a beautiful singing voice because his speaking voice is like a soothing balm to the soul. His intellect and inquiring mind are breathtaking. ❤❤❤

"You're asking a simple question in a complicated way" Basically summarises Zane! 😂
Zane was sooooo great!!!
Correct
Hello Yo! I just saw the PBS program about you and your trio pals. You and I played together. OK big joke, but I was a violinist in the first Spoleto Festival in SC and Italy and your trio (I assume it was the same 3) were the trio in residence there. I was in such awe of you, especially when you threw your head back and were totally absorbed in the music, that I could hardly concentrate on the Operetta music in front of me. Also fascinating was your talk of the interest many classical musicians have in both medicine/science and music. My teacher in music school, Yashua Brodsky used to tell us students about a student that had a dilemma. She loved medicine and wanted to be a doctor, but she also loved the violin. What should she do? Brodsky said, and I quote "Go into medicine, because music is for us poor fools who can't live without it." Haha, he did have some point there I'm sure. Thank you for just existing and adding so much to our culture and lives.
Can I watch this or videos like this in the apple music app?
yo-yo ma's main goal is obviously to blow up and act like he dont know nobody

This all sounds great, but what do you do if you really hate listening to him play? Then none of this interview makes sense, does it?

A woman went to her doctor and said "Doctor please help me. Every time I move my arm like this it hurts!" The doctor said "So don't move your arm like that". I hate the expression "duh" but it's all I can think of here. Just don't listen to him play. (duh)
I really like this person.
