Yo-Yo Ma is amazing to watch. His message and music are wonderful.
Thank you people of Laredo...and thank you Yo Yo Ma......I also watched a video on youtube of Leonard Bernstein the renowned conductor of the New York Symphony introducing Yo Yo Ma in 1962....at the age of 7 years old when he and his family had moved from France....They originally came from China.......Yo Yo and his sister who was 11 years old at the time played a concertina of a French composer...she played the piano.....Leonard welcomed Yo Yo Ma and his family who were immigrating to the USA at that time.....As a Chinese American with parents who also immigrated to the USA.......I am proud to be an American and proud of the people of Laredo who were at the border with Yo Yo Ma...and proud of him!!!!
Thank you Texas Public Radio from the bottom of my heart.
I am so grateful for Yo-Yo Ma in our world and in my life!
Music and food can unite people of all backgrounds.
Gracias Yo-Yo Ma. Thank you for sharing Bach to those in the two Laredo’s. And the world beyond.
I love those words from the poem at the Statue of Liberty. I look forward to the day we honor and celebrate that welcome, again!
What a great soul!
Ma says "Culture builds bridges, not walls." Fantastic. More people should realize the truth of this.

Politically correct propaganda slogan at its best, but I guess you can't mentally grasp that far, after years of cultural brainwashing! It's all sounds natural and very humanitarian to you, isn't it?
I have seen Yo Yo Ma perform several times and, even from the stage, exudes kindness and humanity. This video confirms it.
This is so beautiful. Thank you, everyone who made this happen. ❤
I did not think it possible to love Yo-Yo Ma more. I was wrong. Thank you.
Master musician: and what he said was true: build bridges, not walls.
Thank you for sharing this and thank Yo-Yo Ma for his life of contributions.
Beautifully 'played' Yo-Yo Ma.... just beautiful.

YO-YO MA is a magnificent human being in addition to being one of the greatest musicians that our world has known. I am so grateful for his many good works.

Did anyone else notice the guy on the shore of Mexican border (to the left of Ma) playing along with what appears to be a guitar?? 3:33

Actually, I believe he is playing a violin. By the movement of his arm, it looks like bowing to me. I wish so eone had alerted him to that.

I shot this video. That man was a fisherman, and while it appeared by hand movement that he was playing a guitar or violin, he wasn't. He was pulling up fishing line from the Rio Grande.

Yo-Yo Ma delivers a beautiful message of what most of us value, not the twisted hateful message of our President and his followers. I am in the winter of my life here, and I hope and pray that I can live to see the new spring day when we return to and embrace those values inscribed on the plaque inside the pedestal of Statue of Liberty once again.

@@jamesdelsono Doing my best! Exercising one's first amendment right in a responsible way is nothing to be taken lightly. Both sides of any argument deserve to be heard and discussed. Bravo ? The government has to stop allowing these immigrants to come into the USA all to easy I have friends in Mexico who pay and still can't get thier documents to cross LEGALLY that's what pissed me off !!!!!!
Beautiful occasion, beautiful message, but the MUSIC should not be relegated to the background!
Excellente! I'm so happy to see something that brings people together in love, beauty and appreciation. And, BTW, what is the second piece he is playing, if anyone knows?
To borrow a phrase, the "overtones" of his act will reach more, in more ways, than casually appreciated. The symphony has begun. And the chorus of humanity will soon take up the score. Bernie Sanders may be the conductor, but we're all in the orchestra together, and we each have our "part to play." People get ready...there's a train a comin'. Don't need no ticket...you just 'get on board.'
Suertudos a ver cuando los viene hacer a la garita en Tijuana sera mucho pedir
what was the second piece he played? Not Bach....

O no!! Cello under Texas sun! It is so bad for the instrument!!!! How he could do this, Yo Yo Ma!!!!
I just want to know why his name appears on Dr. David Martin's list of people behind the orchestration of Covid -19 ? There is apparently something that we don't know about Yo-Yo Ma ! However, his professionally considered and politically correct embroidered slogan: "Culture builds bridges, not walls" , makes me highly suspicious of his real role in our society.
I was hoping to find intelligent comments here, but I only heard noise of parrots.
did he say Yo-Yo man?!!? what a disgrace but funny 0:16
As a Chinese American and a musican , keep away from politics. Unless you speak fluent Spanish and understand what Mexcians are.
Play that funky music yellow boy..
Thank you Yo Yo Ma for your generosity. I'm with the Sanctuary project. We are looking to place a family of 10 refugees from Honduras. How many would you be willing to accept in your $10 million 6 bedroom home in Cambridge Mass? Let's build bridges not walls. If you could accept all 10 that would be best because we want to keep la familia together. Please forward your home address. We can have them there within 24 hours! Muchas Gracias! #n.i.m.b.y
