Yin Yoga with a Bolster | 50 Minutes of Bolster Bliss

Ahhhh yeah....find a little extra ease in your body and mind with the help of a bolster.
This 50 minute yin yoga sequence is designed around the use of a bolster, 2 blankets and 2 blocks. Sometimes using lots of props can help you dive a little deeper into your practice. Enjoy the journey yinside!

    I'm just starting my restorative yoga practice so am looking for videos for guidance. This is so helpful! I still need to buy a good bolster but in the mean time I made a homemade/makeshift one using several folded, stacked blankets stuffed into a pillow sham. I do Pilates as my main form of exercise and yoga for stretching out stiff muscles, relaxation and stress relief. Thanks for this! :) Can you recommend a good bolster for restorative yoga?

    Hello! Thank you so much for your kind comments and great questions! I love how you made a bolster with blankets in a pillow sham. That is such a wonderful idea! I currently have two bolsters. The one I used in this video is made by Dusky Leaf and is very good quality. I purchased it about 4 years ago at a local yoga studio and use it many times a week and is holding up well. I have a smaller one that is about 6 years old and is made by Half Moon and is also excellent quality. I would highly recommend either brand! There are many types/sizes of bolsters so it would be nice if you were able to try some at a store/studio. (I know that may be tough in the COVID-19 era!) Depending on your anatomy/needs some bolsters may feel way better than others. I hope this was helpful and I hope you enjoy your journey into the softer side of yoga. Take care xo 💗

    @@TimberlakeYoga Thank you so much for your reply! :) From tinkering around with my homemade bolster, I've surmised that I prefer a firmer one that's rectangular in shape and won't sink to the floor when I sit on it. Thank you also for the info on the ones you use yourself. :)

I really hope you continue doing what you do, whether you make the IVF class or not (but I am secretly hoping you will) as most IVF classes on KZread are filled with chatter about infertility and weird instructions.
