Yamaha XV 1600 Wild Star - Engine Resurrection Part 1 (HD/4K)

We bought a XV 1600 Wild Star with a broken engine, partly disassembled with parts in the boxes and will look at it with the aim of diagnose it and bringing it back to life.
TOOLS
- motorcycle jack up
- set of sockets
- ratchet big and small
- set of hex wrenches
- hammer with soft handle
- knife or gasket cleaning tool
- oil pressure check tool
- files etc. for making the the oil pressure adapter
- oil drain box
- gloves
MATERIAL
- paper towels
- water fittings and pressure hose for the oil pressure adapter

I’m planning a long ride this coming September and was concerned about that oil pump gear. Not sure if my 2001 Roadstar was ever replaced during the recall by the previous owner. Was looking for instructions on how to do the tear down and inspection. Glad I found this video. Thanks for taking the time to record and post this video.

As a mechanic, I couldn't work right with those big gloves!!! I prefer to wash my hands with godd hand cleaner..... Well I guess there are different ways of doing things....

Well, I work with gloves because the oil products like to go through the skin like everything else does and that's not something I'm comfortable with... So for health reasons.
