I think u were not on his presidency of AAU, b/c he was advisor of Meles Qizenawi at that time. In my thinking, he has a deep knowledge and he is academicaly quit brilliant professor. but, if he was working with Meles realy he did a lot of disasters on Ethiopia. He is responsible for the failurity of Ethiopia as Country, as Sovereign State. All those worst social, political and Economical destructions are a result of past 27 years tyrant woyane national mafia group legacy. Even Ethiopian natural humanity and a very prestigious moral principles are diminishing in alarming rate and ceasless racisim prevailed and got in the worst stage as we see today due to those mafia group. As Yetnebersh Nigussie suggested, It would be helpful to Ethiopia if he pursued in Academics than joined to the mafia group.

I wouldn’t deny the academic achievement of the Professor but there is no denial that he had greatly contributed to the agony of Ethiopian people. The promotions some of you had received to professorship does not justify the ill advice he had given to EPRDF. For me, he will go down in history as a betrayer to the Ethiopian people.

First time I saw Andrias was in 1986 in New York city at "Horn of Africa Conference". Dr. Birhanu Mega was one of the of the organizer along with Andrias. At that time he was advocating political and economical sanctions against Ethiopia. On a coffee break I asked him why he is for sanctions on a poor country like Ethiopia. Andrias was of the opinion that the Ethiopian government should approach the US congress and explain its case. That conference was held in 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. All anti-Derg forces were at all those conferences. Andrias and Birhanu were the chiefs coordinating the whole affairs.

It is true that his office was open during his presidency of Addis Ababa University, but it was difficult to find him. I only saw him once during my five years stay. As I was crossing the street through the 5th door, he stopped the car and drove past me. I have seen his humility, I am grateful for that, and I bear witness to this still today. He didnt teach me in class, no words for that. Those who know his academic knowledge can testify. Sorry to say this but his political views and participations are not in line with his knowledge.

It would be a very well balanced outlet if it was included the opinions of some individuals among " the 40 professors" who were dismissed from AAU. I don't think no one denies his academic credentials or scholar contribution, but the big question is what was his contributions to the betrayal of Ethiopia and Ethiopians during MP Melase era? Did he stopped or was he trying to defend the interest of the country or participated otherwise. I hope he will publish one book with his honest reflection so the next generation will learn from him . I think it's a honourable thing to do from his side and the next generation should give him respect and remember him with honour accordingly.

Something I always think of Prof Andreas Eshete is how he managed his livelihood in Ethiopia where almost no one of the entire nation would even cope with his intellect. Legend!

Who ever this guy Eshete used to be, he lost it the moment he befriended with the infamous tyrant Meles Zenawi. He is a now a living witness on how the educated bowed to power.

I liked and trusted the documentary.I used to doubt that there was something great in Professor Endreas though I was a former prisoner of EPRDF and the professor was a close friend of Prime minster Meles Zenawi. I had a deeply believe that ignorance is the root of the conflict in Ethiopian politics.Ethiopia was created the same way USA was created,but USA evolved with knowledge and became the heaven on Earth and if any body doubts it let him stop to migrate to USA from the hale in Ethiopia because of conflict of ignorance Ignorance is energy of Ethiopian political parties whether in diaspora or at home. These is very evident in Amhara and Oromo extremist messing the country from North to south.The engine of the two group mobilizing the deaf and the blind in the community.These trouble would not let free the PHD holders of Oromo and Amhara who are encouraging the extreme ethnic group of the two major linguistic group of the country.The somales do have better scholars than oromo and Amharas. Let us praise knowledge for it lets us to be free, If Ethiopia is dismembered ignorance of Amhara and oromo is the cause. Look at the mushrooming of the utube news they feed on ignorance.
