I own 2 XT5 's. A 2019 and a 2017. These are great cars for travel. The seats are super comfortable. The deals right now are amazing on the XT5.

While the Seats are far from the worst out there, Todays Cadillacs have Seats that feel like Park Benches compared to what the Seats were in the late 70s

I am shopping both of these, so this was super helpful!

The XT4 has a shorter wheelbase, more passeger room and less cargo space. The XT5 has a longer wheelbase, less passenger room and more cargo space. The XT4 has a slightly lower front hood profile and looks a bit more aggressive and same with the rear. the interiors are slightly different as well, the XT5 to me has a slightly better dash layout. I am currently looking to buy this caddy and I think I might go with the XT4 because I like the more aggressive stance and I do not need more cargo space.

I'd like to see an xt4 with a xt5 engine 😍

Very interesting comparison. I am looking at used XT4 and XT5 (2017-2018-2019) units and prices are somewhat similar. One important element that should be considered is that the XT4 2.0L runs on Premium Fuel while the XT5 3,6L runs on Regular Fuel which sorts of offsets the fuel consumption difference cost wise. What are your thoughts on this ?

Both are nice. This was a great video and exactly what I was looking for. My mom is about to buy another Cadillac and she’s contemplating over xt5 or 4. Because of this video, I will throw her my 2 cents which is the xt5. I have one question. In the xt4, the cup holders are located quite close to those buttons (near the shifter). What happens if something from a drink spills? Won’t that ruin those functions?

I drive an '06 Buick Rendezvous and I keep it because I love the location of the gear shift. Its on the column and frees up all that needed space to the left of the cup holders. That is the reason I have not purchased the XT5. Bummer. I really want one, but as a woman I need that extra space for all my stuff. Small hand lotion, pen, pad, notes, handicapped placard, etc. No where to put them when the gear shift is in the console. And men too can use that space. Sure wish GM would re-locate the gear shift back to the column. Thanks for reading this.

I own an XT4 and love that I can turn off the engine shutdown at stoplights. cant do that on the XT5.

I purchased a 2017 XT5 in April...emblems was missing on driver and passenger seat. I was told this year/model/trim does not have the emblems getting the run around at the dealership 😔

I like the xt5 better. I love the steering wheel on the 5, like the rear on the 4. The 5 appears to be the more luxurious of the two!

Both of these cars are so pretty😍, my biggest complaint however is that you’re paying a good bit of money for both and the cadillac xt4 doesn’t even come with an auto lift gate? I personally think that looks cheap on a CADILLAC. My first choice is definitely the xt5 but the xt4 looks good as well.

Right? No standard lift gate is something I’ve questioned as well, I think as time has passed I’m partial to the XT4, front end on it is bad ass looking and has almost the same amount of leg room! 👋🏻

Are both the driver seat area the same as far as room? I’m a bigger guy and like the room in the xt5. Is the 4 the same?

Great video very in depth review. When you checked the xt5 rear legroom was the rear seats slid all the way back? I may be mistaken but don’t the rear seats slide back some? Also, does the xt5 have the option to turn off the auto stop/start? thanks again

The XT5 doesn’t slide back and forth it does have a rear recline for the seat back but that’s it.... the auto start and stop isn’t out yet for the XT5 but it is available now on the XT4... thank you for your kind words, it’s always good to know that the videos have made a difference!

Cody Reed the XT4. I’m having this two dealers give me a quote. They are advertising $230 a month for the premium luxury with 3k down. Not including tax, tag & other fees. I’m looking to do the minimum down. I’m talking taxes and first month lol I have my own tag. They mentioned a credit for Costco members and a 2014 or newer GM car in the family credit. Soooooo idk let’s see what happens. I’m leasing this year for sure. If it doesn’t workout I’m looking into the Nissan Rouge

With incentives on the XT5 compared to the XT4 is a no brainer. XT5 all the way but I like the looks of the XT4 too and like the fact that LED headlamps is standard on Luxury trim on XT4. You can get massaging seats in the XT4 as an option where the XT5 is not available. The Platinum should offer massaging seats in XT5! Both are fine vehicles but with the regular price of the XT5 sans discounts and incentives, I'll go with XT4 Premium Luxury or Sport.

Awesome! I love the looks of the XT4 sport, I think it’s a great combination of style and luxury. Have you felt the massaging seats? I personally don’t like them but I know a lot of people do. We have a customer who says they go sit in their car just to get their back massaged! Haha, crazy!

@@Cody_Reed I hadn't in the XT4 but in the Mercedes S Class, '14 model and loved it. I did had the seat massage on at the auto show when I sat in the '19 Buick Regal. It felt O.K. but Mercedes was the best because the hot stone massage at the time.

no fan control on the rear heat air ???? my 03 trail blazer has that do some traverse and equinox with the v6 dont want the 4 bange,r awd versions

No fan control on out 2018 Regal TourX. But our 2016 Envision 2.0T had tri-zone climate control. Which was nice cranking the rear down low for the dogs or up high when older people were back there. The 2019 RDX does not have real fan control eirher.

I would go with the xt4 and retrofit the xt5 liftgate motor on to the xt4

@@7778jonathan Although the XT4 looks much smaller, it is not. As a driver you will not feel a significant difference regarding space. Same thing for the passengers. Regarding cargo, the Xt5 is bigger. There is a significant difference in the initial acceleration from the V6 engine in the XT5 compared to the 4 cylinders of the XT4. However, once you are in the freeway, the XT4 performs great. I think the interior in the XT5 feels a little bit more upscale. However the XT4 outside is a better looking vehicle. You can't go wrong with any of them . Look for the incentives on each vehicle. The XT4 full loaded gets pricey.

The way GM delivers incentives are different in ever region, I’m in the north east. I’d say contact your local dealer! If you are close I can help 😂 Good luck these kind of deals don’t come often!

To be 100 percent honest I didn’t even know that. Most of the time us dealers are late on everything. They will hype new stuff at the auto shows or on advertisements and then it takes months for us to get the information officially from GM. I’ll try to do some digging tomorrow and see what I can find.

The XT5 looks bigger according to my opinion, but the XT4 has a better bluetooth screen with a High definition.

I like them but the need to be sexier. I feel like they would be more appealing to everyone if they had more of a sporty appearance and more contrast with lighter interior color options even on the lowest trims levels. Not many like all black.
