That is why I really like their company. May not always have the top notch products but they care about their customers and want to do whats right.

Ace Hardware had the Usb A to A cable in a pinch, ordered it online, and picked it up curbside, most other big box stores did not have this cable without mailorder...

Thanks. Your encouragement to keep trying with the awkward "setup and plug-in simultaneously" got me to persist and succeed. I've got it working with usb-C to usb-A on my MacBook pro. Question: Is there a way to select portrait or landscape mode as desired? (i'm testing it with FaceTime). Thanks again.

No, you cannot change the view orientation, on any webcam that I know of.

Rollover36 I can choose portrait or landscape in FaceTime using the built-in camera in my MBP. After more testing it looks like the WYZE WebCam is defaulting to landscape mode in zoom and FaceTime. That’s my preferred orientation, I still don’t see a way to switch it to Portrait. Those choices - available with the built-in MBP camera or the camera in my external monitor - are grayed out with the WYZE WebCam selected.

Yeah I believe being the integrated webcam it allows you to, but you are correct, the Wyze cam can’t.

How did you get it working with USB-C to USB-A on Mac? Doesn't seem to be working for me.

Yeah, good question, so it will largely on the lighting in your room. I noticed Wyze isn’t a great quality in lower lights but much better in brighter areas. That said it supposedly, haven’t really fully tested, does it’s full 1080p video when used as a webcam, so pretty good. As for the lag, I noticed there is a second lag but nothing very noticeable, but might get worse the longer the conference call goes but again, haven’t tested.

Ohh you mean for the Pan! That’s a good question. I don’t believe so, since you don’t have the app interface to change the tilt or pan of the camera. So I’d have to say probably no.

Yes, you will just have to download the normal firmware and re-flash, meaning go through the steps like we did to put the webcam firmware on, and then it will be back to normal.

As far as we know, it will just be there. They never said anything of a time limit on that firmware being removed, more that it just will not be updated or worked any longer on.

cant get the light to turn blue on two separate cams? i am at a loss.

So best option is to hold the button down first, then plug in the power and see if you can get that light to go blue.

Correct, it takes it out of the Wyze app. So all you have to do is go back to their site and download the current firmware version and do the same install process as you did for it to become a webcam.

Yup, that is what it should be doing when it first starts up and you hold the button down to flash the camera with the webcam firmware.

I did somethung like this a year ago had to break my head alittle but manage to work until now that it will save time alot better instead of doing tomuch clicking also it shoumd of been an option since day 1 but i guess business is business

Their site says it can use a 3.0 cable. Dumb question, but do you have it plugged into power and the usb to your computer?

You have to use a partition manager and reduce the size of your SD partition to about 512 mb, I did this and I was able to get it installed.

It's RTSP though
