Wyze Band - Will It Replace My Apple Watch??

Ғылым және технология

Wyze has just come out with another non-smart home product, their Wyze Band fitness tracker. Coming in at $25, its going to be hard to nitpick on it, but will it stand the test? And with an older Apple Watch Series 2, is it better?

So I'm not really sure how great this tracker/smart watch is but for this price, its hard not to at least try it. Let's see what it can do and how easy it is to use. #Wyze

I'm very happy with my Wyze Band..... even with the short proprietary cord. It does all I need.

I don't even bother using the fitness portion of it. I am simply enjoying the smart home control and having my notifications on the watch. For my use case, the only complaint that I have is the proprietary charging cable and the length of that cable. Fortunately, I had a six foot usb extension cable that I picked up from Dollar Tree for a buck that helps a bit. I hate proprietary cables though.

Good points! But I did have an issue with the fact that it wasn't able to control their own door lock without going through Alexa.... that bothers me.

Yeah it did, planning on a updated video on it. But it’s $25 so can’t knock it but so much. But notifications are junk, plus can’t control their own products from it, have to go through Alexa

Dude dude dude it's $25. I've been wearing this watch everyday even at times at night. It's very comfortableThe cord is a petty complaint. The charger well there are more expensive watches and fitness devices that also use proprietary clip on power cables. I purchased a $238 Garmin vivomov watch for my wife. It's nice but I wasn't that impressed. It uses a snap on proprietary cable as well. I have the wyze band and for the price it does very good work. Not sure how accurate the steps are but it's about the same amount everyday meaning it's consistent. The weather matches other weather app. Notifications drive me crazy because I set it to notify me on a lot but it works just fine. The Alexa surprisingly does good depending on background noise. I love the phone find used it a couple times to find my phone. Just the colorful interface is a plus not many fitness bands have that. For the price and the fact that I'm happy with it I give it 5 stars.

Oh I can't really argue with you on that. The price and what you get is crazy for sure! But its definitely not in a "smart watch" category, at least not for me. It's more like what you said, a fitness band. But I did have a lot of issues with it.....biggest one, why can't I unlock or lock my Wyze door lock without going through Alexa!!!!??? I mean its a Wyze product, why do I have to go through third party to control it! Just boggles my mind! But again, $25, hard to even complain at that price.

So far I've had this for a few weeks and it's terrible. Never had a smartwatch but I'm coming from Fitbit. Comparison to the Fitbit the steps are very inaccurate is a complete fallacy and you have to have the app open on your phone all of the time in order for the band to communicate and for you to operate all of the wise cameras etc. It's going back until you come out with a version 2 or something much more improved. Going back to a Fitbit. Then again what do you expect for $25?

I have five wyze cams outside with protective casings. Two pans three V2s. The cams have been outside over 1.5 years. They are working just fine in all weather conditions even after a hurricane. I have not one complaint about the cams. They exceeded my expectations.

@@GrossTechnology No I do understand. I have one myself. It often fails to sinc, record HR data, and other minor issues. The charger even died and they had to send me another one (for free). Each software update slightly improves it. BUT, I wasn't expecting a whole lot anyway, because IT IS ONLY $25.

Your videos are generally pretty interesting, but I think you need to "cut to the chase" a bit sooner. You don't need almost 11 minutes to tell me how sucky and short the charging cable is or that you're overall not terrifically impressed. I think 5-7 minutes will do. ;)
