“How much were you paid” I don’t watch WWE, huge AEW fan. But grow up. Honestly. Nothing more sad then when your so tribalistic that when something negative is said u have to resort to “your paid off!!!” In defense. Acting like Olis stance has dramatically changed out of nowhere is just false. He’s been getting slack for months on months about his “negativity” towards AEW. If you actually watch Wrestletalks content you would have seen this building in him for a long long time. Nothing wrong with not being a fan with something, nor is there a problem with said thing u don’t like being doubled down on and your resentment growing more and more.

This video reminded me how I got into wrestling youtube. It was videos like these that told objective facts and added a top layer of personal interpretation and story to real life events. Another thing to note, HHH has been cultivating talent as well as a team to create the best product he can, and has earn the trust of their talent, which means they are willing to work harder. WWE has a team of writers to create dramatic storylines and are allowing talent some creative control of their characters, which has allowed for really good Television that while not always amazing, has created proper progression toward their big shows and big matches They have always been able to create entertaining characters but now that is properly backed by solid story progression week to week. People are interested in WWE's product again. Tony Khan may have been the head booker since it's inception, but something has definitely changed in what their product has been able to do since early this year, and many of their stories haven't hit as well as they did in the first and second years. It's hard to see whether it's been the loss of a lot of the company's high value talent over the Summer, or if the stories deteriorating, and the characters on screen not being as compelling as before has lead to the decline in AEW's product this year, but something definitely is wrong, and I think it's Tony's lack of a writing team that has caused the company to fall by the wayside, alongside Tony now having the pressure of having to actually compete with a WWE that can actually produce a solid product across all of it's brands, versus the previous 6 years of WWE, which were known for having some of the lowest lows in their ratings. Hopefully something get's fixed because I would love to see another wrestling boom in America, where we have two major companies aiming to put on the best TV they can, with the alternative not shooting itself in the foot this time with backstage politics ruining the show.
@justaguy5915
Жыл бұрын
The problem is, the second Tony brings in a writing team, people will hammer him for taking away creative freedom from wrestlers and will accuse him of copying WWE. It's a lose lose for him.
I think WWE have been more likely to have considered their own business opportunities than to deliberately screw over AEW. Remember they are independent contractors legally, so WWE could reasonably send out feelers to the AEW to see how they are feeling with their current company and if they would like to work with HHH again. Anything to happen as a result of that, like the media scrum would simply have been an unintended but not unwelcomed consequence for WWE. However, the biggest way to screw over AEW deliberately for WWE would be to resign Punk. We know HHH said in a Bleacher Report interview he had talked to Punk when he was with Fox and the conversation was cordial, so maybe we’re overestimating their past feelings, especially with Vince no longer the top guy. I mean remember: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
I feel everything he is saying as a aew fan I think Tony needs to keep his cool and book the best shows he can let go of the people who don't want to be there to free up space for people who want to be there

He also needs someone else with legit pro wrestling experience to book and agent his show, and come to him for approval. He has no talent, and his lack of pro wrestling experience is glaringly obvious with how terrible he has been at creating and getting over new stars. So many guys have gone from over to forgotten in less than a year Darby Allin, Wardlow, F.T.R., Eddie Kingston, etc. All of them had massive momentum at some point, usually after working Punk, and then were badly booked into apathy. Tony has no idea what he is doing, and it's killing his company.

I love this style of video from this channel. Though everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I believe the internet as a whole forgets that this is a wrestling channel that reports on wrestling news as reliably as they can but they also have opinions and reviews of wrestling as an industry that are just as valid to hear out whether you agree or not. Maybe the world is just unfamiliar with British humor and gets defensive because they don’t understand. I loved the whole “was this wrestler actually good” series and would love to see it make a return.
Oli works really well for this style of videos, I'd say even News/Reviews. He feels in his element.

Kitty wrestling, exactly like ours! This is such a wonderful theory. I do think that some of the returning talent are also intentional steps for another jab at WWE. Trips bringing back Mia Yim and letting her do well on the main roster is going to, for sure, convince Keith Lee to come back eventually, also letting Zelina Vega have yet another prominent TV role means the door is being left open for Malakai as well. This version of a vicious businessman Triple H is great. I hope AEW is ready to stand its ground - the TakeOver is coming for them...

Neither Vince or Papa H can could told the story Oli just told. It was a great recap. I think wrestling fans are also forgetting two key elements... Paul Levesque, the son-in-law, was the student to the most successful wrestling promoter ever, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. So, Triple H who has his own vision, also has all the 40+ years of wrestling business savvy from Vince PLUS all the wrestling knowledge and wisdom that Dusty gained in his life time. Versus And, Tony Khhhannn has daddy's money backing AEW, 3 years of booking experience, and is a life long wrestling fan. Begin!! Cue Epic Rap Battle

This is a very well-made video and I must say it is sad to see AEW in the state it is now. The company that was once lauded as celebrating the best pro wrestling had to offer soon became case studies of the industry's worst tendencies. Ineffective management, a bloated roster filled with underutilized talent, backstage drama fueled by out of control egos, and putting storytelling on the backburner for the sake of popping ratings. Please do so many more of these oli!
Oli is hands down a business/wrestling mastermind. He has built the best wrestling news outlet. Less than 200k on the perilous journey of the hill to one mil.
Some say it was a surprise while others say it was inevitable, but in all seriousness it was bound to happen sooner or later. The only reason AEW got as popular as it did was because Vince was in charge of WWE, but since he's gone where did that leave AEW? Who are they fighting against the biggest competitor or themselves? Tony could not get control the locker room no matter which side you are on there is infighting between WWE Ex stars and AEW Talent. There is only one person who should be in charge of talent relations and that should be Jim Ross or William Regal men who know the wrestling business and their superstars who can deal with personal issues. If AEW wants a chance to challenge WWE then they need to do what NXT and the UK did. Unify the titles to get the undisputed champions of the roster making the titles relevant once again and not a collection of belts. Have the world champions on the main roster while you have the TV champions in Ring of Honour. This is just one possibility out of many, but it has to change soon otherwise it will AEW's downfall if not already.
Love the format, keep going.
