Very nice engine for that chassis. I put an ez30d in my Baja as well as swapped to manual. The H6 is *so* much better than stock.

Yeah, after years of looking at spec sheets/dyno graphs and riding in cars, it seems you need about 1cc per pound (or 2cc per kg) for an N/A car to have enough torque to get out of its own way. Assuming you go the max effort N/A route, on street compression and using pump gas (not even E85) you should be able to get at least 80 lb-ft (110nm) of torque per liter, and then your horsepower will depend on your cams and how high you rev it. With boost (and lower compression) you should be able to safely, reliably, and responsively 2x to 2.5x that number depending on the engine and how much you build it. Another good way to consider things is the rule of 3rds. 2/3 cc to lbs weight NEEDS boost, 3/3 can be either/or, 4/3 is starting to be "fast" without, but can still use it and be drivable on road, 5/3 is starting to move away from drivability with boost, and is genuinely fast without it, and 6/3 cc to lbs or more definitely doesn't need boost to be supercar quick. Also, generally speaking, after about 650-750whp (since most cars are 3000-4000 pounds, anyway) drivability is going to suffer.

I didn't mention it in the last vid, but I got all my exhaust sizes from and online calculator on a place called mk5 cortina estate. Between them, David Vizard, and simple mathematical area calculations, that's also how I confirmed the 2-into-1 pipe ratios needing to be about 1.41x difference for perfectly equal flow, or roughly a 4/3 rule for slightly less than equal, but improved velocity flow. I think with headers, though, especially tri-y style, it seems most go for closer to a 5/4 rule, but IDK about all that and don't wanna talk out of my ass(an American expression). EDIT: Also, is that sick music when you're making the intake tubes in YT's library? Also, you see your shop lights pulsing/flickering in the reflection after you finish the intake? I have a quick tip that can help solve that, if you want. Also filming tips in general, too.

I just wanted a large pipe so create as little restriction as possible. One 4" pipe wouldnt fit so decided to use 2x 3inch pipes. Its all a bit unnecessary most likely, but I like symmetry haha

@@hawes_power5590 TBH at your power level, I can't imagine that it NEEDS two 3" or one 4" pipe on the intake. But either way, it's definitely future-proofed for one, and for two, it looks badass that way.

Awesome work on the car. I am considering this swap for my TT BRZ in the USA. Since E85 is abundant around South Carolina I am considering tuning with E85. What stand alone do you recommend for this swap the Haltech or Motec? Also would you assume I would need larger port injectors to run E85?

thanks! i used a motec as it came with the car. I havnt used a haltec, but i understand they will do the same job for half the price. Also, Link have just released a GT86 plug in. The factory injectors are 270cc/min so yeah they might struggle to flow enough ethanol. a friend tuned his ez30 on ethanol and gained 15whp if i remember correctly.
