It is never easy to say goodbye to the beautiful peaks of the Grand Tetons, but it was made easier knowing we were headed to meet up with so many friends at the 3rd Annual Lippert Getaway!
This year’s event was a little different as it was on the west side of the country for the first time and focused more on adventure and experiences! We started off with an amazing potluck BBQ night with all of our Patrons - The FOS Crew that joined us at the Getaway! The brisket was perfection!
We got the event started off in such an incredible way with 2 separate seRV With Purpose events: one group working at Henry’s Lake State Park and the other one with the West Yellowstone National Forest Service. If you are looking for a way to give back while traveling, you can check out our seRV database of non-profits across the US here: servwithpurpose.com . We would also LOVE to have you join our seRV Facebook group: / 595394262688668
Next up was an awesome side by side trip to check out the foliage in the surrounding mountains! Usually this type of excursion (follow the person in front of you) isn’t Corey’s favorite, but we had so much fun riding around for hours with our friends and seeing this beautiful side of Idaho!
Stay tuned for next week as we say bye to our friends at the Lippert Getaway after being bus tour guides and head back into Yellowstone National Park to see some places we have never explored before! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!
Don’t wait to live your life, find your 🔆SOMEDAY🔆 now!

From the beginning, whenever we broke camp, everyone had to walk around and pick up 10 pieces of trash (cig butts didn't count but pick 'em up anyway!). Later, I learned that when my daughter was in college and camped with her friends, she'd have them do the same thing! That's an internalized teaching folks. :)

What a beautiful tradition and isn't it the best when you see your kids move forward with the lessons you have taught them?! Thanks so much for following along and raising a new generation who is considerate of others!

Exactly!!! A good life lesson that many children have never been taught. It is really sad, because the benefits of living this way always come back to you. So sad that people are so self absorbed and distracted these days to realize they are hurting themselves and the world they live in creating negative effects down the road. Thanks so much for watching!

The boy scout motto. Leave it better than you found it. So sad that organization got tarnished by a few bad people. Did great work with young men. We all need to be good scouts.

So many of those things are not being taught to the next generation. It is why we started volunteering when we hit the road as it was so important to us that our girls grew up knowing these important lessons.

Absolutely agree! We even think it is important to teach our children that we need to leave places better than they were before. There is a major disconnect with this next generation growing up in our country that gives very little recognition of their responsibility to take care of the things they own and use, and this air of entitlement that they shouldn't have to worry about or deal with these things. What a rude awakening is coming if we can't find ways to show them what their indifference is going to bring to their lives and in turn this world.

Leave No Trace is key to keeping these beautiful wild places accessible for generations to come! A few years ago I found tags for our backpacks that list the LNT principles (one for kids and one for adults), I bought one for each of us and we keep them clipped to our hiking backpacks, so that they are always handy to review. Almost every hike with my youngest boys (8 & 10 yrs) we talk about at least 1 principle. Usually it's "Trash Your Trash" because we ALWAYS have snacks, and inevitably see some else's trash left behind.

Another great 26 min 26 seconds of great content. As one other comment said these 3 letter agencies are taking more control everyday. To the point it is out of control. I live in the Black Hills of SD. Here the Forest Service has done everything to completely wipe out our logging/saw mills industry. At the same time will not allow people onto their private property because they have 2 ft which an easement is needed. Sure there are things I agree with when it comes to common sense. But they act like dictators when it comes to small issues total BS.

This place is like so many western spots open to primitive camping. To try to patrol and catch offenders is almost impossible in part due to the vastness of the territory. Locals use it as well for elk hunting and fishing for rainbow trout. We go in there to pick huckleberries in season as the cabin is just down river from "quake" lake. Love Henry's Lake!!

So true! When the rangers were taking us to the sites to clean, one of the sites had been vacated with a fire still going - like with flames. They are gone and there is nothing the rangers can do but we put the fire out and rebuilt the fire pit. I don't think people realize just how much land it out there to cover. You could have 100 rangers in that area and people would still get away with stuff. SO glad that you and you family have been able to enjoy such a beautiful place! Can't wait to get back to that area!

Gratitude and respect to all of our unsung heros and nature warriors out there keeping the sacred land alive and fighting for it's right to thrive. Most folks dont understand the seriousness of caring for our planet. I guess thise are the fill in people. They are there but they don't have any heart, thoughts or feelings. They were just put here to fill in the spaces. 🤷 Hopefully whatever program they are running on will get updated with some common sense and empathy for other life forms but until then, its the people protecting the natural experience and those raising awareness about the problem who deserve tons of appreciation and respect.

Oh my gosh, we stopped at an overlook on the Oregon coast at the beginning of our RV adventure and we had yellow paint ALL OVER our truck AND the front of our 5th wheel! We had gone through a tunnel and were hugging the middle since there wasn't any traffic...I guess they had just painted!! It was awful. I was able to scrape all of it off the paint of the truck & RV right there before it completely dried, but it was still all over the inside of the wheel well and the mud flaps of the truck when we sold it (for unrelated reasons). To this day you can still see it on our SnapPads on the driver side though! It was crazy! Also, we randomly stopped at the Earthquake Lake visitor center that same summer. Our video about it will be coming up soon since we are so behind getting videos up. lol But what a very tragic but interesting story that was. We love this area. Great job on the video and your service, as usual! ~ Ashley

It's such a cool video. Getting to help out with the clean-up projects was well worth the time. The potluck was so cool. We need to do it again soon. Lippert Getaway was our first real experience into camping. We had a great time made better by being with friends. AND made better still by meeting new friends. We are looking forward to seeing what's coming next.

It is really sad that others have no respect for things or places or the other people around them. Such a shame that they didn't have anyone teaching them how to behave better. And so shortsighted that they don't see how it negatively affects their own lives and the world they live in. We will continue to fight against that by cleaning up these places. I am so sorry to hear that this has happened at your happy place, but I encourage you to use that frustration for good and organize some of the other campers at the park for a clean up day. There is nothing more bonding and special than seRVing alongside others. We have a TON of resources to organize an event if you are looking for any help. Great video! I mean no offense to you or the Rangers, but please stop saying "It's going to get shut down if people don't start obeying the rules, keeping it clean, etc". Instead say "Let's quit punishing the decent folks that play by the rules, pay the fees and taxes, and start fining these offenders". Start by making it not look like a campsite, post it no camping, and randomly patrol problem areas and fine the offenders. Sure, I know they are dealing with budget cuts and fewer resources. But, they know where the problem areas so, start patrolling some of those areas and use the revenue to get additional resources. Closing public land is not the answer it just makes people less likely to support additional public land funding, less likely to stop at the gift shop, and less likely to want to pay any other fees or buy wildlife license plates, decals, etc.

Definitely a lot of politics surrounding public lands. We are going to focus on what we can do as a family - take care of the things we have been given and the places we are blessed to visit and make them better than they were when we arrived. If we can help others to be more conscious of and considerate in their actions, we will have met a goal for this platform. And hopefully it will lead to deeper discussions about what is going on in the background and can start a movement there to cause some change and reveal the truth about what is actually happening. From shotgun shells, trash, nails and broken glass, it’s truly a mess in some areas. We no longer camp at a family favorite because our camping experience would be spent picking up garbage the entire time. And, it is so unsafe for our children. So sad.
