    Hey, that campground looks incredibly peaceful! I’ve always been curious about how work camping really works out, so it’ll be great to get the inside scoop from you. That 5th wheel looks fantastic-spacious yet not overly large. We have a 40' 5th wheel, and moving it is always a drama. I keep telling my wife that I’d like to downsize someday, but she disagrees since she’s not the one doing the towing or maneuvering. Anyway, great video! Looking forward to seeing how this journey unfolds!

    Good video. What do you have for law enforcement support? My brother was a sheriff's deputy in Wyoming and always enjoyed the campground patrol (even though it meant a lot of after hours calls). He did both Nat'l Forrest and private campgrounds. He has lots of history of coming out to a campground to set some rowdy campers straight, to having those campers become model campers in the campground (mainly from his approach of coming down hard on the offenders yet, giving them the opportunity to redeem themselves unofficially...no citations). On another note, when my parents retired, they did a winter in a RV park in Arizona. Mom was disabled, and many days all she wanted to do is sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. Dad on the other hand, was a kind of individual who always had to stay busy. He ended up helping the RV park owner almost every day on maintenance tasks, just to stay busy. When Mom and Dad left the RV park at the end of winter, the owner refunded all their fees, because of all the work Dad did for the owner. Cool owner! Hope this gig works out well for you in the long run!

    Nice looking campground. Love the pines 🌲. We may work camp when I retire in 2 years, I’m not opposed to it but it depends on the money really. My thought with work camping is on days off we can see more of an area at a detailed level. Good luck on maybe getting a different Rv 👍🏼

    How do you deal with campgrounds reporting the total annual value of your RV site on your W-2? For example, if you stayed 16 weeks and the site would have rented for $500 per week, at the beginning of the next year you will receive a w-2 from that campground which will include your total hourly earnings PLUS $8000 income for the fringe benefit of site? (16 weeks x $500 per week site rent free)

  • @FateUnbound

    @FateUnbound

    13 күн бұрын

    Personally, I wouldn't work anywhere that reports the site as income because that's a massive tax burden to bear when you're already not making a lot of money. The place we work at now doesn't report the site as income because it's not an actual site they ever rent out to anyone. It's specifically made for workampers so they're not losing potential revenue by having us stay here.

    They covered this in an earlier video, I don't remember the name of it. Roe has/had a hard time with the negative nancy's on the internet (trolls) and it really affects her mental health, so to stay true to herself she is no longer going to be in the videos but her and David are still together and I completely understand where she is coming from. All the judgement you get on the internet would wreak havoc on my mental health as well. Good for her for doing what is best for her - although I would love to see more of Roe as well, we have to respect her choices.
