Paul Diamond was used to wrestling under a mask because in the 2nd version of The Orient Express he wrestled as Kato with partner Tanaka , Kato replaced Sato . The 2nd version of The Orient Express had a great match with The Rockers at Royal Rumble 1991 and another good one at UK Rampage 1991 . Tanaka and Diamond were no strangers either having previously teamed as Bad Company in AWA against as you might've guessed The (Midnight) Rockers .

If you're old enough or watched a lot of WWF/WWE videos you might remember Virgil had a similar mask to Cody Rhodes in 1992 so did The Undertaker in 1995 .

It's funny he mentions shredder and masks, but fails to mention kevin nash player super shredder in TMNT2.

Well about Kwang, Vega used the gimmick in Mlw and even entered twice in the third battle riott match as both Kwang and Savio Vega

Gotta disagree on Kwang. I thought that mask was dope. And his entrance gear looked cool too. And how dare you soil the name of the Repo Man.

Regarding Golga, it wasn't just Vince who didn't think John Tenta would work as Earthquake after all the weight he lost. John Tenta himself didn't feel he would be believable in the Earthquake gimmick.

Al Snow was also Shinobi another ninja type under Camp Cornette then there's the one time gimmick s of Super Ninja who went against Ultimate Warrior on Saturday Night Main Event , Super Liger who was Chris Jericho and Japanese promoters couldn't believe were the same man and who could forget Gobbledygooker ?

I heard a rumour that Carmella's mask came about because Vince thought her face was ugly.

Kato . Sato was an original member of Orient Express , mind you Tanaka and Diamond , without a mask , were no strangers they were a tag team in AWA known as Bad Company and one of their feuds was against The (Midnight) Rockers ..

That's not Konnan in the thumbnail. That's Thomas Borić (Paul Diamond) in that mask. Konnan's Max Moon mask was a prototype and looked quite different from the final design. Konnan probably could have used a different gimmick, though any good wrestler could make any gimmick work. That Max Moon character was literally out of this world, though it wasn't any worse than some of the other gimmicks floating around that time. The costume was luchadoresque, he could have made it work had he wanted to.

Someone could make the mask power gimmick work, it would have to be a Lucha. When he doesn’t wear a mask, he’s useless and gets beat easily, but when he wears the mask, he’s unstoppable. They would have to be stellar in ring, someone like Bandido.

It wasn’t just Vince,it was Russo and Dunn that really thought NOBODY would recognize some of these people.

I guess Terry Gordy in a executioner hood wasn't memorable enough to make the cut here. Maybe next time, Terry... Also, what about that mask the Undertaker wore in '96 to hide his broken nose? I kind of made him look like an Under-Dorker to me...

The Executioner gimmick is a tried and tested gimmick in singles and tag teams worldwide throughout the years while most failed there was a masked tag team known as The Executioners in the WWWF(an old name before they became WWF or WWE) and they were tag team champions . Unfortunately as you said Gordy was one of the unsuccessful ones mind you he had one pay per view match against Undertaker and that was it .

Carmela was supposed to look like Hot Squidward. She is a heel!

That guy who attacked random heel wrestlers during the early 90's . Yes I know it turned out to be Brutus Beefcake but nothing came of it even though his most famous/infamous attack was on Earthquake .

In all these years, and having watched at the time, I never realized that Golga was good ole Earthquake. That Max Moon mask, from the front, looks like someone wearing a pair of underwear on their face. It's the huge cutouts around the eyes. They look like leg holes. Haha! What a terrible getup all around though. The Repo Man mask, while incredibly goofy, wasn't meant to be a Lone Ranger mask. It was one of the old timey thief/bandit mask from the old costumes.

I'm pretty sure the thumbnail Max Moon is Paul Diamond: the second Max Moon. Watch the first episode of Raw. In a match with Shawn Michaels Diamond/Max Moon's pyro shooting wristband missfires on his ring entrance.

I always find it cute when people forget or just don't know that Barry Darsow was also Krusher Kruschev in the NWA (mostly in JCP). Arguably as big or bigger a run than when he was in Demolition in WWF.

Yes! He was part of a Soviet stable with Ivan Koloff and Nikita Koloff, and his character Krusher Kruschev was supposed to be an American of Russian decent who sided with the Koloffs. The babyfaces in JCP called referred to him as a traitor.

Paul Diamond deserved better . He and Tanaka as Badd Company were awesome . One of THE most underrated tag teams of all time . I wish they wouldve lasted longer and went on to more fame in a bigger company with that gimmick . Orient Express yeah I know . But it wasnt the same .

That has nothing to do with the video and no, kaiser shouldn't. He should stay with GUNTHER for awhile, he adds too much to GUNTHER character and presentation.

Rey mysterio jrs mask is sick.. but he lost his character when he put it back on in 2002

Golga's mask is great, turned up in WWF attitude, even in the ecw game. Chainsaw charlie?terry funk's use of the stocking made sense, he was a bandit. Golga just needed a different move set. Shock-master, yes, that was dumb, Super shockmaster had a better mask. Avatar, again, mask is cool, it, ended up in wwf attitude. Al should have worn it to the ring, not put it on in the ring, that was dumb.

Im not a fan of carmella but i thought she actually had a nose injury. Thats why she was wearing it. Its a cool mask to me but maybe better given to someone else the thumbnail mask at least maybe Nikki Cross or Piper Niven

The Funker with hose on his head was definitely the oddest mask, I think. There are some completely ugly masks in this video.

Although related to Rikikshi , Rosie was part of the tag team 3 Minute Warning with Jamal who went on to become Umaga . Rikikshi was Fatu part of the tag team The Headshrinkers who were Tag Team champions for a while in 1994 after beating The Quebecers after losing the tag belts and teaming with Sionne as The New Headshrinkers Fatu went solo for a while before becoming The Sultan managed by Iron Sheik and Bob Backlund alll this before becoming Rikikshi . Yes I remember Chris Jericho as Super Liger and made a comment involving Super Liger .

@@robertclark2253 with regards to Super Liger, Jericho was given the gimmick to feud with Jyushin Liger in Japan but commented the mask was so hard to see in that he found it hard to wrestle, and when a legend like Jericho struggles to put on a good match with another legend like Liger, you know it has to be a bad mask
