Let's not forget these: 1. The Rock as Rocky Maivia 2. Edge's debut WWF match in 1998 ended prematurely after Edge legitimately injured Jose Estrada's neck with a somersault senton. 3. Jackie Gayda in 2002. That mixed tag team match was a disaster. She botched a lot of moves, including a late selling of a bulldog.

@@luisgomez8635 To be fair to her though, this wasn't her fault. The company should have known that she wasn't ready. But they put her out there anyway. Winning a contest on MTV is not enough training. She should've immediately been sent to development before being sent to the main roster.

In defense of Escobar, he had already lost his mask in Mexico, so the name and gimmick change wasn't really a 100% WWE decision

Man, poor Fred Ottman. When they built the set the person that did it put a 2x4 there and it never should have been there. Ottman didn't really mess it up it was more a avalanche of mistakes that caused it. Still hilarious though. Especially Ole Anderson doing the voice offstage over the sound system to give him this all powerful voice effect. And Sid totally selling the whole thing even after the trip.

I saw Becky Lynch’s NXT debut as it happened. It was so embarrassing that I got second-hand embarrassment just from witnessing it. I just felt so bad for her that she had to do this gimmick.

@@Scarybugjuice no I saw her on the indies and remember her, the UK indie scene isn't very big and was even smaller back then. You tended to see the same people all the time. So you know. I knew her gimmick and I knew what changed when she went to WWE. And I was on squared circle when she debuted and the thread about it - full of UK indie fans saying "oh they didn't get her original gimmick at all, I hate this" I like how in your head "youre a smark thinking they're special when you don't know Jack" was apparently way above "lives in the UK" as a plausible reason for that answer.

The entire plan was literally to change him to Santos Escobar, the kidnapping storyline with the masked men had been happening, so to act like plans changed is just making things up

Personally i loved Esobars debut and how the reveal was especially cause i was a fan of his before and it wouldve been a lot better and memorable with a crowd

Fun fact: The giant ninja gimmick of Omos was inspired by the giant ninja gimmick of 6'8" Baron von Lector (a 2000 trainee of Road Dogg) who briefly was known as "Super Ninja Gai (Guy)" in 2010.

If you listen real closely, you can also hear Stevie ray during the shockmaster debut say “Look at that motherfucker!”

When Shockmaster debuted...Young Cody sat at home with friends and Said "I think that was Uncle Fred"🤣🤣😂😂

Don’t really know if this counts or not but Matt bloom re debuting as Tensai was cringeworthy, which is a shame because he was a monster in Japan

What sucks is that they could’ve saved that gimmick if they just acknowledged who he was. Doing some vignettes where they interviewed Bloom, used a couple snippets of his time in Japan, and explained the ways he had changed his style would’ve been enough. Instead they expected the audience to have forgotten that A Train ever worked there.

Vince's new moustache is just the worst look ever. It screams Mexican Snidely Whiplash.

The thing with Austin was at the time no one really thought he had so much charisma. He was known as a good worker but bland at the time

Then the Raw the next night had Austin 3:16 signs everywhere and Vince realized the cash cow Stone Cold just created. This solidified at Wrestlemania with Bret Hart. All of this courtesy of a FedEx firing from WCW and Paul Heyman realizing Austin’s pipe bombs would bolster ECW. Can you imagine if we had Austin in WCW during the NWO era? He and Sting playing 2 sides of the anti-hero personas? That would have been epic!

Yeah, Alexa's gimmick was seriously awful. Anybody watching then would have never believed if you would have told them that Alexa would go down as one of the best female heels in pro wrestling history.

I can't speak for the others, but as for the Vince McMahon story, initial plans were to have a power struggle ensue, including Vince's real life brother joining the company. It would have ended with the revelation that Linda was the one who blew up the limo. Vince would have returned, "divorced" Linda, and retaken the company.

First thought, Brodus Clay's Funkasaurus. My buddies and I were expecting something badass and when he came out we all laughed. Are you for real? Somebody call my momma!

It could've been worse. Apparently the original plan was for it to be revealed that his mother was rapped and he being born a result of that. Good thing they quickly changed their minds and sended him to RAW to join Evolution instead.

Rocky Maivia definitely should've been on the list. I'm not even a fan of Dwayne Johnson or his Rock persona.

Usually enjoy your videos, but I think some of this list is a bit of a stretch. NXT was pretty much the indies when Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch debuted. Those ladies persevered through bad gimmicks, but if you didn't have access to it, then it's forgettable or simply unknown. Becky Lynch had a lackluster main roster debut though. Bianca Bel Air and Austin Theory not receiving the royal carpet treatment from the start isn't so bad either, though Bianca could've been given a much better debut. Could've included: the Hardy Boyz, since they were jobbers at the beginning, before Michael Hayes took them under his wing. Triple H as Terra Ryzing in WCW. Edge, who had a bad debut in a different way. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles both being forgettable in their early WWE days. Kevin Nash as Oz.

Despite the gimmick change,Alexa was still a jobber or a sidekick at best in NXT while Becky was just Sasha's sidekick or booked as the worst 4HW and the most irrelevant 4HW with the other three getting all the big moments in NXT....Becky literally was involved on a major feud when she made her main roster debut and hasn't felt as a sidekick or as a jobber

Alexa and Becky didn't have great starts with the company as a whole, but it all happened in an exclusive setting. The video creator could've gone much deeper with the wrestling history and shown people who were on national television as jobbers and bad gimmicks. Scott Taylor (better known as Scotty 2 Hotty) is another one who was similar to the Hardyz
