Wrestling is Wrestling Again!!!

Спорт

What was once a cultural gamechanger has since been relegated to a super niche form of entertainment, mocked for its content, and never reached the status that it once had. Until now. Professional wrestling is back!

Keep up with this quality and you´ll have a massive channel in no time. Re wrestling being cool, i´d say it was pretty good until 09 or 10, then the quality fell off a cliff.

Sports entertainment is a type of spectacle which presents an ostensibly competitive event using a high level of theatrical flourish and extravagant presentation, with the purpose of entertaining an audience. (WWE started focusing on the “world” and “entertainment” more than the “wrestling” even though there were still great matches) We all know that wrestling companies were always & forever will be sports entertainment, but pro wrestling is once again cool. (WWE is focusing on each letter equally)

It isn’t really, it’s just gotten better compared to most stuff that happened previously that was horrendous. Wrestling for the most part is still mediocre. A 5/10 will convince you it’s a 10/10 in a sea of 2/10’s.

5:52 Sports Entertainment was used because if wrestling called itself an actual sport and qualified under the title of sports, the licencing would be more expensive and the drug tests would be more strict and expensive. WWE was trying to stick it to the Athletic Commission, who wanted to charge them an arm and a leg, so they changed categories from sports to entertainment and just blended the two words to sound more cool.

I feel like Gunther is going to be world champion soon and is probably going to hold it for a while and elevate it also I’m so glad chad gable is getting the push he deserves Here’s to more great wrestling to come thank you triple h and keep up the amazing content

Open your eyes, people. Don’t believe the hype. If it’s so great then how did a 50 year old Rock put on one of the goofiest performances of his career (The Final Boss) and STILL manage to completely overshadow the world champion AND challenger for the Wrestlemania main event? It’s not a new era just because HHH says it is. You can try and downplay the Attitude era by bringing up Katie Vick or Beaver Cleavage all you want but the numbers don’t lie. There was a time when WWE/F programming was the most watched thing on whatever channel they happened to be on. At one point they were more watched than the NFL. They used to have over 8 million viewers. Now they have less than 2 million. Why do you think they split Wrestlemania into 2 nights? So they can make people pay for the same PPV twice! They’re about to do the same thing with Summerslam. What exactly has changed? It’s still the same vanilla-m1dget dorks jumping around in their underwear, pretending to be tough guys. Wake up people. Don’t be a sheep. The WWE is dying and they are struggling just to keep their head above water. People hate the PG/John Cena era but what is the difference? I’ll tell you. During the PG era, John Cena once cut a funny promo with Jericho where he couldn’t curse because the majority of the wrestling fanbase was children. The PG era made fun of itself. The only difference between the PG era and the “new” era is that the PG era acknowledged its own failures. Now they’re trying to cover it up and hope that you don’t notice. The new era is a sham. New packaging, same product. Tell some random person on the street that you’re a wrestling fan and you’ll find out how cool wrestling is… when they call you a virgin. 😂

I have no idea who most of the new wrestlers you listed are... and to be fair, based on their appearance, I don't even care to know. I'm too old to get excited about wrestling anymore since most of my wrestling heroes are either past their prime or dead. Oh well, at least I still have the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression, and WCW Nitro to go back to every now and then.

While it is true that a lot of the old wrestlers are gone, a ton of newer wrestlers emulate the old style. LA Knight is a great example, if you enjoyed guys like the Rock and Stone Cold, LA Knight might be a guy you'd like. Don't dismiss the new guys cause they're new, I say give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

@@Meta_BreakI tried to watch WWE just a while ago, and most wrestlers these days have the personality of a fire hydrant. I really wanted to give it a chance and like it, but it was mostly meh. I know I'm wearing my nostalgia glasses right now, but the number of unique and truly charismatic wrestlers in the late '90s and early '00s was insane. I'm not saying that a new superstar can never emerge again, but the selection has significantly decreased compared to 20 years ago.
