DROPPING THE BALL | Wrestlings Biggest Failed Pushes
When you have a wrestler who’s on the cusp of greatness, someone who’s ready to break out that next level and become a true superstar, all it takes to get them there is a little push. It’s what booker’s have done for decades after all, gauging what the audience are craving and giving it to them with just the right performer at just the right time. But what happens when that performer isn’t the right one? What happens when they fail to get over in the way that people had hoped? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today. So, join us as we take a deep dive into Dropping the Ball: Wrestling’s Biggest Failed Pushes.

Well, the guy is the biggest Mexican star since El Santo and brought CMLL into European TV and even took titles in Japan. Too bad WWE completely ruined him by not lettin him adapt a bit to the US style in FCW, and then give him a completely different mask (Mistico's mask got holes for the eyes, not the Sin Cara mask), plus adding weird lights, all the ingredients that would lead to him not being ready for a big push.

Jones is very tall and therefore, very uncoordinated. Even when he was pushed as a main eventer in World Wrestling All-Stars, he still looks like crap. There is so many weird decisions by wwe… Ziggler, Kennedy, big e, nakamura, Christian,ä and cesaro. Yes they are stars but could have been megastars. Big e makes no sense cause he fits vinces image. He is massive but also has charisma and skill. Its weird that they can mess upp winners of mitb and the rumble. Its pretty much a guarantee to make a star. Other that come to mind is ted dibiase, braun, Wade barret, bray wyatt, Cody ofcourse before aew.

Another ball drop was Val venis because he could have been WWF Champion had they pushed him more and he was getting over with the crowd with his gimmick and he was in high-profile matches but the parents television Council put the kibosh on his career/gimmick because he did the right to censor gimmick to make fun of them and he didn't recover after that and gain so much weight and now he's a crazy person who's smokes and sells cannabis

Rob's failed push is the most hysterical. He had the look, physique, and the arrogance to be a top heel, but that song....THAT SONG. A rehash of Luger's Narcissist theme would've been far better, granted the parallels would've been too noticeable since Luger also failed.
