IS THIS REAL LIFE? | Times Hell Froze Over in WWE
Sometimes a good gimmick can be the difference between a talented wrestler getting lost in the mid card shuffle and them main eventing WrestleMania. After all, before he became Stone Cold, Steve Austin was wallowing away as The Ringmaster, and prior to him finding fame as The Hitman, Bret Hart was almost saddled with being a cowboy. That said, sometimes even when the right character falls into a persons lap, it can be taken away again before they get a chance to see it reach it’s full potential, leaving us all to wonder what could have been if things had gone differently. But what are the best examples of this? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today. So join us as we take a deep dive into; Almost Had It: Great Gimmicks That Were Dropped Too Soon.

Regarding Jeff Jarrett, the story is Double J's buddy Vince Russo was the one who recommended he demand the money from Vince McMahon. One major Hell Freezes Over moment you missed was WCW's Franchise aka Sting joining WWE in 2014. Sting was the one major player from WCW who held out from going to WWE after Vince bought WCW and closed the doors on that organization in 2002, and it was thought that he would never join Vince's organization.

The one guy in the front row with the shocked face that's now an infamous meme is exactly how I felt when the 3 count came and Taker didn't kick out. Also, Cody Rhodes returning to WWE, especially after all he'd done outside of it, was a truly shocking moment that felt like hell had froze over.

Finally someone who can put into words how I feel about Austin's heel turn at WM17. It killed the popularity of the industry. Period. Never again has WWE or "Sports Entertainment" reached the peaks of popularity of the Attitude era. Austin turning heel didn't kill his character, he recovered that over time, but what it did do was set off WWF's transition to WWE and end the biggest "Boom" period in it existence before or since. Never again will WWE be as "cool" or "badass" as the Attitude era days and fans knew it as soon as Austin and McMahon shook hands.

There are a couple of glaring errors in this video. Firstly Bret Hart's match against Vince was *four* *years* after his Hall Of Fame induction, not the year after. Secondly, the Ultimate Warrior died in 2014, not 2018. You've even shown the date at 8.51.

  • @LuckyStrike01

He had to because he was subpoenaed. Hogans testimony was actually a big part of why Vince got off on all charges because he said that while he did steroids Vince never told him to, supplied him with, everything he did was on his own and that’s the opposite of what the prosecution was trying to prove. It was actually hogan coming out of the trial looking worse than Vince because the whole time he was telling kids to drink milk and say your prayers and take your vitamins his “vitamins” were shots of dianabol and whatnot. All that stuff was legal til the very late 80s or early 90s and even then the boys were getting it prescribed by Dr zahorian in Philly. The whole trail was a farce really the prosecution had nothing it was almost as if they took him to court as a smear campaign after finding out about zahorian
