Team Wideopenmag's Christo Gallagher was given the Manitou Mezzer Pro Fork to race for 2020. He's always raced rockshox or fox and, at first, wasn't sure how it would stack up against those big dogs of suspension.
After a few months of riding and racing it's time for his honest opinion on how the Mezzer Pro stacked up!

Great review. I’m considering the Mezzer Pro for my Mega or can get a Zeb Ultimate for a similar price. Are you still riding the Mezzer and are you still getting on well with it? Can’t say I’ve seen any out on the trails and wondering if spares and servicing are ever an issue for you?
Which version of the lowers did they give you? Was it the RevB with the M5 bleed ports on the arch and the decals with individual letters? Or was it an older fork? Is so, have you noticed the bottom out bumpers coming loose?

Hi, this is the 2020 model, not sure what you mean by the RevB or M5 bleed ports or bottom out bumpers even I'm afraid. You might be best to contact Manitou for more information there.
interesting for, but curious how to take it apart, I have a Fox 36 with Vorsprung Smashpot, but the EXT ERA sounds promising. but so far what I have works well.

Hi there, These are pretty easy to take apart assuming you have all the tools to hand. Manitou actually put up this nice little instagram video recently on how to do the travel adjust instagram.com/p/CDkD_xYHyPu/, which took the guy 8 minutes in total to do (obviously he's done it a few times though), and taking the damper side out isn't much more work either. I always get a professional to do it though because I just know they will always do a slightly better job than me. Having used Lyriks before with a vorsprung luftkappe the negative spring system on the Mezzer pro is certainly equal to that and FOX 36 forks. I'm defintiely getting noticably less arm pump and fatigue thanks to the small bump sensitivity.
How are the forks doing now?
How does the Mezzer feel at 150 compared to 180? Noticeably stiffer?
What do you think of the mezzer compared to the Zebb or Fox 38?
In the Netherlands the Mezzer is a bit more expensive than the Lyrik Ultimate! Still recommend it over that one? Could you link the 6-700 GBP fork? Thanks man, great video :)

no the mezzer forums, people rate it over 36, lyrik even HC97+coiled lyrik

Germany actionsports HS bike discount r2bike starbike all under 800 euro. And yameah it is better than the lyrik even if you pay more. Service is great and you have hbo. DZ susoension offers cheap tuning which evej raises performance 1 level further
want to know the travel lenght you used for this manitou fork

Hey man, I've been using the 180mm travel on my Nukeproof Mega and 150mm travel on my Nukeproof Reactor. Both work great, for different bikes

Still prefer over the zeb
To adjust travel: Hook up shock pump. Pump to desired pressure. Set fork at desired travel length. Disconnect pump.
