Worst Driving Test Route
Worst Driving Test Route. I drive the worst driving test route ever from a driving test centre so bad that it closed down. Missing signs, emergency stops on national speed roads and roundabouts that aren't roundabouts. See the newer 2019 edition • Worst driving test rou...

What a great video Thankyou XXXX crazy test route ! Love to see your students tackling it for us ,learning lots from mock tests on you tube ,gives me loads of confidence Safe and happy driving everyone :-) xxx
thanks paul, all the pitfalls on one route, good lesson
Enjoyed the video, very informative. You'd have thought that the people organizing the test centers would notice the dismal pass rate and try to figure out why it was so bad, not just close the place because people were avoiding it. You'd also hope that examiners were not in the business of catching people out but figuring out whether they were safe -- so if they made mistakes because of poor signs or bad road layout the test woule be more about how the reacted to and recovered from those mistakes. BTW - I did my driving test decades ago and it only took about ten minutes -- a couple of miles of mostly back streets with the hill start, emergency stop and reversing. (These days most of my driving is in the US; one big difference is that you drive a lot slower on residential streets, 25mph down to15 at intersections.)(We also allow learners on the freeways....you've got to learn how to drive on them somehow, its a bit silly to just hand someone a license and shpve them out into five lanes of speeding traffic.)
I live near Quinton, used to use some of the roads in your video on my daily commute, but on a motorcycle. I have my test on Tuesday, and your videos are helping me alot, thank you.
yeah it's hard to drive in Cornwall! you get national speed limit roads that are the tiniest curviest roads, usually all on angles so are halfway covered with surface run off from fields. we have some very very weird junctions too, especially in the small streets of places like St Ives.

Sophie Chapman I always enjoy the double mini roundabouts outside Mcdonalds in St. Austell :-D
19:39 LOL
Yes but you don't need the left mirror by law because when cars first came out they only had the right and centre mirror and it's never changed.
This was the funniest video ,this guy is great ! Tbh I would of failed within the first 5 minutes of this test
you went down my road at 25:43
Yes they do at the start, never noticed that.
You should drive at an appropriate speed for the road and conditions. Limits are limits, not targets so you don't have to go up to them but you mustn't drive too slowly or it will annoy people. So long as you can stop in the road ahead that you can see is clear then you're ok. If you can't see where you'd stop then you're in trouble! I recommend a minimum of 40mph on national roads but it depends on the road and what's on it.
That is one awful test route!
Very well spoken
I have my test tomorrow, glad I won't be doing this route!
9:58 The A456 from that point has had its speed limit dropped from 50 to 40 15:04 The road you turned onto (Kitwell Lane) has had its speed limit dropped from NSL to 50 20:18 The road you turned onto (Church Hill) has had its speed limit dropped from NSL to 30, and the bend you mentioned at 20:30 now has a traffic island on the junction, even though there’s only one sharp deviation sign for traffic coming the other way 21:40 The road you turned onto (Ravenhayes Lane) has had its speed limit dropped from NSL to 50 23:33 to 24:01 More speed cushions have been installed 26:38 You can no longer turn left into the side road - it’s now one-way. There’s also a zebra crossing in the middle of the staggered junction 27:06 There’s now a zebra crossing after exiting the roundabout because of the co-op 28:48 The junction has been changed again: you can turn right from the left-hand lane, but you can’t turn left according to the markings.
wow that surprises me. thx for getting back.
Do you fail if you don't go at 60 on the NSL roads? I have my test in just over a month and there is a NSL road on the route that you can't really go over 50 on.
my driving instructor said I would have failed my test because I didn't look in my left hand wing mirror when turning right at a roundabout. When approaching the third exit I glanced at my left wing mirror and then indicated before correctly entering into the 2 laned road. I saw him write something down which I picked up upon. I told him that I did look in the mirror but he says I didn't. I said well have to agree to disagree. I suppose I have to make it more obvious. This was a mock by the way
My test route is Garrets Green!
the thing is is that if he was doing his job properly ie watching me like a hawk then he would have seen me glance in the mirror. So to fail on this just seems real unfair. I was just wondering what your take is on the matter?
The only change I can see from this video and now is the speed limits on the country roads by Bartley Green Reservoir, the road itself past the reservoir is a national speed limit, the road going past the church and the farm is now a 30 mph zone, and the rest of that road is now a 50mph
You shouldn't fail someone for not looking in the left mirror because that mirror isn't a legal requirement. The law says you MUST have the right mirror and EITHER the interior OR left mirror. You can do a test with the left mirror smashed off because you don't need it. Many of my pupils put it down for reversing, forget to put it back up because of test nerves and they always pass. You should however look to the left even if a mirror isn't fitted but if he missed it that's his fault.
Lol every house looks the same
Surely you need to look in your left hand mirror before turning left, otherwise you may not be aware of cyclists for example coming up your inside?
i would crash too if i drove on the left side
Can you do a redditch test please
18:58 Did he just say "I've just been for a quick swim" lol

Is there any speed cameras on this route

Yes.
I saw the sigh was behind a push
I know this is an old video but the examiners in my opinion should always know that speedometers always show a higher speed than you are going at, which is perfectly fine. However, Speedometers that show a lower speed than the car is moving at, are strictly forbidden.
OKay, seriously, why aren't learners allowed on the motorway again? In Austria, its mandatory for learners to drive 2 hours on the motorway and 1 hour night driving before being allowed to take the practical test and its part of the minimum 13 hours of driving with an instructor here, if you sign up for the B class driving license at a driving school.
