The bay parking looks off but the car is perfectly in. The car park is on a steep hill which along with faded white lines and bays that are not always opposite each other makes parking here a challenge! You can see a satelitte image of the car park here to see that the bays are not lined up opposite each other exactly www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.415...
The 30 mph sign at --- is wrong. The road we're going onto has always had a speed limit of 40 mph as you can see from the rear camera. If you look closely you'll see it even says "20 zone ends" underneath the 30 when it wasn't 20 anyway! The 20 road is the other one that we pass, not the one we were on and it only lasts for a few metres before it becomes 30 again!
The sat nav speed - it's usually more accurate than your cars speedo but it can go wrong. It can jump from 30 to 35 when you haven't increased your speed at all. It also displays incorrect speed limits as you can see at 26:43. We pass a 30 sign yet the sat nav shows the limit at 60.

I don't know why I watch these videos, I passed 2 years ago! Anyway, these tips were still relevant to me and will hopefully make me a better driver. Great video and great advice as always.
I passed today Paul, zero faults! Your channel is the best resource for learning to drive on KZread. Good luck to all taking their tests soon, my advice. Learn your mirrors inside out, and make sure your junction observation is spot on. If you have these two in your armory that is honestly half the battle. Thanks.
Paul you’re great please keep posting videos I’ve learnt so much. ‘Just because you’re ready to pass doesn’t mean you will.’ I’ll remember that for when I have my test in a few weeks!
Your a credit to your profession mate. Watched a lot of your videos and really appreciate them.
Just Passes my test this morning first time at the Kings heath test center, 4 minors, Your videos helped me so much, thank you.
I passed my test the other day, 1 minor!!! Your videos proper helped me.
2:35 Not looking in the direction of travel. The back window when reversing.

i was thinking when the car was swinging out too, no check to his right
i passed my driving test yesterday and these videos helped me so much thanks!
I was told I was not allowed to say thanks by putting my hand up.to say thanks during a drivers test.
The wheelie bins..lol..can't help laffin
I have a class B truck driving license in the USA and even that test was super easy compared to the regular UK driving test
Had my first ever lesson today and it was chill.
Bay parking: Didn't check blind spot? You were just starring at the left mirror.
Hey thanks. I passed yesterday thanks to your videos 😎😁👌👍👍
we always have to perform the parking manouvers between 2 cars on the road ( bay parks, parallel reverse forward, ) - I do not live in the UK. - When you have to park between cars it makes you more nervous and stressful..
Another great video! Been watching before I passed in Jan 2016, and still watch now :) I got the right answers to your early questions, so at least I learned something :) With the thanking other drivers, my instructors always told me not to take my hands off the wheel, and kind of rotate my left hand to thank them that way...but doing that is really hard to see. So yeah, I wave too. Also, with the bus lanes, I was coming home the other day and at least 7 cars came shooting through an active bus lane...with a police van right behind me. Do the police not care or something? Or do they actually just have cameras on their cars and take details down and auto fine these morons? I noticed that car parked on double yellows in your video, but the cops don't seem to bother about them either...there's loads of them around. And I'm not just talking pickup up or dropping off, I'm talking over night parking here...
Soon as you said you're doing something special that no other instructor is doing, for some reason I had "podcast" in my head, now with your new video, that is reinforced, so yea, that is my guess, some sort of talking to other instructors/learners on there learning to drive journeys etc.
On the bay park, you were transfixed on that left mirror and not keeping your head active checking for any developing hazards outside the car. Someone could have walked behind the car. I had a pupil who once did that on a test.
Parking mistake - Fixating on mainly the left mirror and ignoring blindspots. 2. mistake - A bit of coasting.
Not looking backwards when bay parking
nice driving.
It's amazing when you realise that this video took 5 cameras to shoot, so thanks for the effort, Paul. PS: Do you leave your car in gear when you park? And what sequence do you use when you stop and are about to leave the car - Handbrake - 1st gear - engine off?
i think if you have passed your driving test still watch Paul's for helpful tips about driving and been safe on the road i got my 3rd test tomorrow afternoon.
My instructor had a pupil who couldn't do roundabouts, so at everyone regardless of what the examiner said she'd go left. It somehow worked and she managed to pass...

Thats terrible. I dont mean to be rude but sounds like she could kill someone for the sake of shelling out £20 for 2 hours of lessons that could potentially save her life...
I was just wondering what all of the white triangles on the road mean @ 25:40, does it mean change of speed limit? I've seen them by were I live but I couldn't find them in the highway code unless I missed them somewhere.
Checks not looking around enough
How hard is it to keep a couple of carrier bags or bin bags in the car, and put the rubbish into the bag and then either empty the stuff into the recycling/bin when you get home or stop and put it in a public bin somewhere. Anyway thanks for the videos, v useful 👍
not looking out the back window
You sound like you're using a diesel? Have you had any issues with the DPF, I've used several diesels over the years for teaching but never one with a DPF and can't find any information, I'm concerned after reading horror stories! Are they suitable for driving lessons? Or do they endlessly clog up? :-)
Not checking blind spots
What should you do if you find yourself in the left lane that goes to the motorway at 31:38 on the test?
Observation in the bay park?
Reverse bay park: Failed due to not making full observations (out the rear window).
Was the answer that when reversing at start u didnt check all around you as you were reversing into the bay slowly like u were doing correctly with all the head movements at about 6min mark.
not looking at back window, rear mirror and blindspot
You didnt do your observations during the park reversing into a bay
You didn’t line yourself up alongside bays as you went at an angle, also didn’t do all your proper all round obs whilst reversing back likes over your right and left shoulder and right door mirror, just concentrating on ya rear view and left door mirror
They're doing what every other driver does when they come in a carpark. Drive round and round looking for a space. They're all the same. Take the 1st one or 2nd. No need to drive round and round
Insufficient observations
