The poker boom was caused by WSOP being free for everyone to see on espn. Do you think poker will ever grow when the biggest event of the year is behind a paywall? Pokergo is trash.

@@eddie195777 I can be a fan and not support a company’s monopoly of poker and forcing everyone to pay to see any and all poker events worth watching. I can afford it luckily but it’s the principle. What about those who can’t? ESPN made it work for them so you know it’s doable. They should make the main event free to draw in people and interest and then you pay for further content. Makes more sense.

As to the clock issue, Back when we had free-roll games all over the place back in the moneymaker boom, I would occasionally run into this kid who drove me nuts. Each and every hand he had the exact same mechanics. wait until his initial action was on him for 10seconds before even looking at his hand. wait another 15 seconds, then act. check, call, raise, or fold it didn't matter. While he clearly felt this made him hard to read, it also wasted soooooo much time. It was detrimental playing at the same table as this guy as you lost so many hands per blind-level against the tables playing at normal speed lol. One day I finally convinced him of this fact and he started playing at normal speed. While his play stayed consistent, the extra hands we got to see ended up helping his win rate increase.

I find it hard to believe that none of these players try to get info by talking to their opponent. I'm not talking about a Kassouf 7 minute stall, but 10-20 seconds of talking could make them elicit a reaction

please let me talk to you at a poker table cause i will talk you out of all your money. part of poker is being an actor. not conveying even the slightest bit of information when a card hits. that could completely change the game. the only thing you can do is sit still and just look. at one place. because actors are gonna throw you off. and will switch it up and sometimes be telling the dead truth. the only thing that matters is have i run the numbers enough in my head and what all have i seen this guy do with what cards. thats why they take so long before each action. they are running through hands

George Holmes has played well except for that last hand before the break. Hopefully he keeps going like he has.

The BB ante should only be as large as the number of players. putting in an ante for 8 players when only 3 are on the table is stupid

lol some funny comments in here about so called "younglings".... koray aldemir is a mega shark with 13 million in live earnings up to this point which turned into 20 mil total with this win. holmes had about 50 k in live earnings before winning this 4.3 mil. he's basically the "moneymaker the second."
