If you think he has aces or kings betting 3 mil was terrible. At that point you have to go with it. It's like calling with 10 9 preflop and on a 10 7 2 flop folding to a bet. Why call if you're gonna fold to some aggression.

Jerry was smart not to show it though.. even though a “semi bluff” or bluff is fun to show, he knew he had to keep a reputation.. unfortunately that backfired big time with Kravchenko 😂😂

Poker suffers from what a lotta “sports” suffer from. The skill level got “too” high. Pushed out a lot of the sloppy amusing play, the characters and the entertainment factor. It was awesome to see the small group of pros collide with amateurs and rising internet talent. Kinda like the UFC. It was much more entertaining when BJJ wasn’t as dominant, it wasn’t as technical, when guys were brawling out there, and characters were everywhere.

It really is. The necessity in live play(or at least the perception) of avoiding giving off tells against increasingly good players makes for boring television unless you're into the technical side. Hilm had played so well throughout the previous days too, I thought at the time he was the best player going into the final table (still do) but trying to get a fish who cant fold like Yang off his hand with a semi bluff with their stacks was beyond stupid. Rahme's shove with KK on an ace high board and Watkinson's shove with a7 pre after witnessing the previous hands at this table vs said fish who cant fold are even worse plays however. You've been shown time and time again that he wont fold and you still did it. MORONS. Kravchenko had the right idea vs Yang, employing the let him hang himself strategy. If he wins the AK vs 88 flip im sure he wins the tournament.

Eh people seem to forget Ax is 30%+ against everything besides a better Ace. That's a huge part of why A5 is such a great standard bluff - you block AA, AK, AQ, etc., many of their monsters aren't THAT far ahead of you and you're ahead of plenty of "better" hands like KQ suited. Also, remember, this is a highlight reel. If someone raised with 99, gets called by A6 suited, the flop is 8 high and it goes bet fold, it likely didn't get shown.

I know why he folded it exactly, when you make a big final table like that you have millions going through your mind and a ton of pressure on you, now all of a sudden you're making a choice that could put you out in 9th which would be the ultimate embarrassment so he decided to play safe and stay incase Yang had kk or AA, the problem with this generally is you'll end up blinding down and end up regretting this fold later as usually you will just move up a couple spots and bust later with an even worse hand than the QQ which is what happened, But I actually understand the fold, with that much pressure it's very easy to start putting people on KK and AA and not wanting to risk it on a mistake decision, but yeah once he leads the 3 million on a safe board that held vs Ak you have to go with it.

A final table is far more about luck than the rest of the tournament. The blinds/antes are generally a much bigger proportion of the stacks; and as players are eliminated, they come around faster and faster. You can't wait around for great hands.

"Terrible" not necessarily. He was VERY aggressive. Which is something you probably should be at a final table when you have that many chips. Maybe he over bet sometimes, maybe he was a bit rash other times, but aggressive play style will be rewarded that deep in a tournament more often than not, especially when you start getting a lot of chips

I don't really blame the preflop call, but the flop call is terrible. With just a gutshot, Jerry doesn't have enough chips to justify that call for implied odds.
