MARIUSZ PUDZIANOWSKI
Big Z was quite slim back then =D
It's hilarious, in hindsight, to hear the commentator questioning if Zydrunas Savickas will be any good at lifting overhead.

Very sorry for your loss. This sport along with bodybuilding has taken many lives. It is truly sad.
Love seeing the heats and learning about the competitors. Thank you
1:54:00 Pudzianowski, the only strongman who put up 6 stones and got only 2 counted.

@@Altern8One Nah he shook the 3rd stone loose when the 4th stone banged too hard on the pillars. In all honesty, its an equipment failure, and he should have been allowed to continue. Not that in mattered with regards to qualifying. Mariusz the GOAT.

That heat is not good for Svend's viking genes 😂 I think he was by far the strongest man in the World in 2001, but he only won by 2 and 3.5 points against 2nd and 3rd place. Maybe because the heat and humidity gassed him out
Always wished Karlson had won at least 2 WSM, seems like a cool dude

Pudz - all time best debut of strongmen. Everyone was just speechless from opening event domination ( 1:31:30: )Everyone is falling and stumbling, almost dead and unable to finish, meanwhile he looked like he had done his warmup and was ready for the actual event.

I honestly thought Pudzianowski was going to put the shield back in the slot at 150 meters. He didn't even look winded when he dropped it.

@@TheKessi1000in 2005 all the top competitors besides Pudzianowski were competing in IFSA and Pudzianowski was the only competitor who competed the year before in WSM all the others were new to Worlds. I wonder how dominant Pudzianowski would have been if this split didn’t happen, not having to compete against Savickas and other top strong men from 2005-2008 until they returned to WSM in 2009.

These videos are incredible ❤️💪
They come once every 200 years, gifted by God Pudzianowski. Defying the laws of gravity and physics with sheer determination. Probably the pound for pound toughest man that ever lived. I'm not even a fan I'm just telling it like it is.
I thought Johnny Perry was done with the squats after like 3 reps. He did 9. I googled him and learned that he died just a few months after this WSM Finals, at just 30 yo.
