World’s Most Dangerous Roads: Best Of - Burundi, Mali, Bolivia & Canada
World's Most Dangerous Roads Best Of - Tanzania & Kenya: • World’s Most Dangerous...
00:00:00 Burundi
The racing cyclists of Burundi have a dangerous job. But it’s a vital one for Burundi’s economy. Bicycles are the main means of transportation in one of the smallest countries in Africa. Bananas, the staple food in Burundi, are transported from the markets to a banana beer brewing factory. We accompany Tharcien, a bike courier, on his exhausting cross country trip on the Burundi Highway.
00:42:44 Mali
The air wants to flee the heat, but is too weak. It hovers just above the ground, heavy and weighed down by the oven-like heat. It turns wanly around itself, and tries to cool off by liquefying itself. It vibrates, it oscillates - but there is no escape. This is West Africa in late March. The Harmattan, the hot desert wind of the Sahara, is blowing without respite. It has no pity with the people who live here. Whoever wants to go from one place to another has to travel on roads that hardly deserve this name. They are dusty paths that don’t appear on any map. They are maneuverable only with great effort and for a few months of the year.
01:25:09 Bolivia
The Carretera de la muerte - the road to death- is one of the most dangerous roads in the world. Year after year many people die here. We accompany trucker Omar and his co-driver Jaime on their trip across the Andes, encountering cyclists, mountain bikers and coca-farmers on the way.
02:07:29 Canada
The Canadian ice roads exist only for a few months in the winter when the ice is thick enough. The only time of the year when goods can be transported up to Northern Manitoba. We accompany the truckers Vlad and Hugh as well as the aboriginal Canadian Scott with his pick-up on their long journey to a village called God’s Lake. A risky trip in icy temperatures, sometimes even below - 60 degrees Celcius.

These riders are true hustler. Young and striving. I pray that God watches over hard-working people and help them be successful every day.
This was very interesting I couldn’t go to sleep I stayed awake until 3 in the morning watching this documentary. I so appreciate the determination of the people to make a living. I’m hoping for only good winds blow their way and may they continue to gain the strength needed.

I really enjoy these Dangerous Roads series. Not necessarily because of the terrible roads, BUT because I enjoy learning about other cultures worldwide. I cannot travel and explore in person, so I do so watching many travel videos here on KZread.
Out of all the videos you have made, Dangerous Roads of Burundi stands out as the most compelling!

I remember when the Dangerous Roads series was on television in the '00s. I love how the series talks about the culture, the people, and the landscape of the countries they're in. Awesome that FD has the license to show it because it's one of my favorite series on YT.
I am from Tanzania. This documentary makes me realise I don't know the hardship some of black Africans are facing. My memory of my childhood in Africa is nothing but paradise on earth. May be its because my parents fought hard to give me fairy tale upbringing something I don't take for granted now that I am a parent too.

im watching from south africa , i'm also realizing how blessed we are as south African yet we complain so much about our government, we have have best national roads but should there be pothole we scream to our government calling our politicians useless😂. truly this is an eye opener. but now big question remain about Burundian politicians what is it that they do about state funds ?
Africa is beautiful. The banana brew seems tasty!

This doc is so well done. It's much more than just a dangerous road doc it's the lives of the ppl that sacrifice their lives every single day in order to eat and feed their families. It's also sad that these strong boys cant have access to motor or some type of solar ebike. These boys would be the best of the best tough bikes influencers. Where are all the companies.

The courage and determination of people facing extreme challenges in Burundi, Mali, Bolivia, and Canada are awe-inspiring. Whether it's transporting essential goods on bicycles, battling the relentless desert wind, navigating treacherous roads, or braving freezing temperatures, their resilience shines through. Thanks for sharing these remarkable stories.

This is very sad. I am from Zimbabwe, and my country has been in difficulties for some years now, but this video has made me realise just how much better of we are. African leaders should have mercy on their subjects. 😢😢😢
Burundi will be my next holiday destination it looks beautiful, and the people seem very friendly. I really enjoyed this documentary. Thank❤❤ you
Oh my god. This is good video to show the world how hard the life is for people in Bugundi
Always wonder why africa does not have cyclists competitor champions we have these guys cycling up hills in one gear bikes carrying 150kgs everyday at high altitude. I'm sure if given a proper bike these guys would be impressive in the tour de France n other races

What kind of help? This guy may been genuinely happy. When a person or society earns their way .....they appreciate their existence more. They take care of things better. And so on!! ..If anything this young man should be an inspiration to ALL the lazy people that are afraid of hard work and hire services to do everything for them. Call Door Dash instead of cooking a nutritious meal. Mow your own lawn, trim your shrubs instead of hiring that out. How can those be honestly proud of themselves?
a great documentry enjoyed a lot we want to see more asap

Special thanks to the individuals sharing personal information/transportation experiences. Making this documentary more authentic and possible. "God help me",is precisely the sentiment I wold want on my vehicle, if traveling on Burundis "roads". I would probably go for, "God help us all." Their roads are a sight more developed that many of the less developed countries.
