Meet Phoenix, Juniper, Astra, Saoirse, Autumn & Ember. They are 6 wolfdog clones created from Willow, who tragically died in a car accident. They are the World's first Wolfdog clones and are all beautiful. Find out today why and how they were cloned, how much it costs and how healthy they are? Human mother Courtney Udvar-Hazy of 'Wander with Willow' and 'Willow's Wolfdogs' will tell you everything in an Animal Watch exclusive, as some of the press that was released was factually incorrect.

I got my first GSD when I was around 15years old. He mostly black with tan socks. A dot above each eye and a little on his chest. I got him at the “pound” for $4.50. He was my soul mate. I swear he could read my mind. He went everywhere with me. I’m now 67 years old and I still miss him. He will always be in my heart.

My soul dog was named Grizzly. He was black with flame tips on his flanks and the tips of his ears, and a small white patch on his chest. Ice blue eyes that I swore saw right through to my soul. How I wish this technology was available back then, almost 40 years ago. I'll love that sweet dog til my dying day, and hope that the Rainbow Bridge is a real place where we will meet again.

I lost my ‘soul mate’ dog just over 5 years ago. I still feel a pain in my heart sometimes and a tear comes to my eye. I also still have my other dog that was her companion. I adopted a very similar looking dog to her just over 3 years ago. I don’t have the exact same heart connection with them as I did with my first, but I love them endlessly. Her legacy lives in my heart. I would prefer to adopt more dogs than clone my first dog, because there are so many abandoned dogs out there. Also, after spending over 50k she didn’t get the same connection she did with the original dog. You would never get the same personality or connection with any other dog. The video was interesting though, I didn’t even know you could clone dogs 😂

My Astra is a husky who helps me function on day to day basis due to mental health problems. But I do think there’s a process to life no matter how much death hurts us. Humans have no right to play around with nature balance . When Astra does go over the rainbow bridge . It will destroy me I pretty much expect. She's so proper and well mannered, not to mention absolutely gorgeous.☺ Though I would love to bring back the pets I've lost over the years, I don't think I would clone any of them. Like mentioned in the video, they're not actually going to be the exact same dog. The appearance will be more or less the same but personality and experience wise it will be a separate individual. So I'd rather just get another dog. But I could understand the need for cloning, especially if it's for the sake of preserving certain genetics within the species/breeds, such as the ones for this rare coat color mutation.

My two pet cats I have now are rescues from our local junkyard. They were the only 2 kittens to have survived. They are now 3 years old. Happy, healthy and spoiled boys. I do develop strong , close bonds with my pets. I once met a girgeous Coyote/German Sheperd mix. He wasn't like a typical dog. Gorgeous, beautiful and abused. I spent a very short time with him. In just a few days I had started to gain his trust. The owner moved out with his special pet. I never saw him again.

Identical grape vines raised in the same way in the same soil by the same people with similar amounts of sun and water can produce wines of different quality, some of which may be called vintage years. Likewise, these animals may look identical but they differ from the parent dog. They were born at different times and therefore with a different orientation of the universe. This influences their all their systems' physiological functions, ie: cellular, glandular, hormonal etc. etc.

That is correct. For that very reason, cloning is still a crap shoot. I hope she or anyone who messes with cloning is committed to caring for WHATEVER they produce. Reputable breeders have much greater odds of knowing what they will produce, knowing they are not passing along genetically transferred disease. I can't condemn cloning, but I don't think most people perceive it as variable as you described.

Clones are also know as none character players because they don't have souls. You only have a soul coming from first consciousness (GOD). The truth is stranger than fiction.

My husband, whom it took almost 50 years to find..passed in February. My adopted twins, one died 3 days later, then the other was in life support after a car accident 4 days after that.. I allowed him to keep 7 other families from burying their family member. In a way, I guess you could argue that's sort of cloning his cells into complete strangers. But, if you find fault in cloning, transferring genetic cells to another, ask those whom would have suffered my horrific triple loss of the only family I had. I ran away at 8, and never looked back. I adopted the twins at birth whom were drug addicted knowing they had little chance of making it to first birthday. I left, per my husband's wishes, our house we worked so hard for. I took his car and our house keys to her and left with my 17 year old dog and a backpack. We walked nearly 50 miles in well below zero ice and snow to bus and left behind the woman whom allowed her son to freeze to death. I was broke with just that dog and backpack. That dog has stuck with me thru my homelessness, being without a car, and indebt for three funerals, his car and sleeping in the cold rolled up in a tarp in the icy mud . Today, he even now lays with me and we lay together in the cold. Her turned 18 in July and he eagerly greets me when I walk home from work. We upgraded from a ragged tarp I found in the ditch to sleep in, we now have a small tent set up inside a large 10x12 kennel . I could argue, after loosing my whole family I finally got late in life, that he should be cloned for his courage and loyalty. But, even if I had the money, this gentle soul has done more for me than any human has outside of my husband. When he passes and I lay my final family member to rest, my humble heart will give God thanks for giving me this 4 legged angel to help me negotiate remembering not what I lost, or what others have but I don't have, but remembering God gives us what we need, not what we want. I miss my sweet gentle funny husband and the beautiful, special boys, our safe warm home and not having to walk 9 miles to work but, at 62 when co workers are griping about aches and pains in their thirties or having to race from their nice warm dry cars inside when I walked all that way, I know I'm blessed with health and memories and hope. Pray often, love deeply and give thanks for even the tiniest blessings. 😊

Idk...i find cloning very cryptic and weird. I think the cool thing about dogs are that they are each unique. After my dog passed away, as much as it hurt me, I would never try and recreate that same dog. That was a very specific dog to me that gave me unique experiences and memories that i will associate with that dog and that dog only. My next dog will be its own unique dog that i will love and have its own unique exleriences with. I think trying to re-create a dog that passed away...it feels sinister and villainous...and in some way...frankenstein-ish.

@djlu3011 Totally agree with what you're saying....To clone/replace my dog when he passes would make me feel like I betrayed his unique soul and the unique experiences we shared together that made him so special...every dog that I've rescued was a completely different breed and none of them can be compared to each other....All of them were irreplaceable and I loved all them exactly the same!

  • @nobodyyouknow7226

Except you're not, the only thing that you're really cloning from the dog is the looks. Our personalities are made up of our unique life experiences, they're made up of gains and losses. While there's argument that a little bit of it could be genetic, do you really think you would still be the same person if your life was totally different? No. You're not really recreating or betraying your dog in any way. Your dog has passed on, and this is a new dog entirely just with a similar physical distribution. This dog's name isn't Willow, it's Phoenix because this dog isn't Willow she's entirely different. Honestly, it's the same as a identical twin, you wouldn't say that identical twins have the same personality or are the same person would you? No, of course not. They're two different people going through two different things in life, this dog is just simply Willow's identical sister. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing Frankenstein-ish or villainous about it at all. Being afraid of technology doesn't immediately make it evil. I find it to be kind of a beautiful thing, although the argument for not being able to move on could be made, and this could definitely be an unhealthy coping mechanism. It's certainly not evil.

  • @Emidoki

    @Emidoki

    4 ай бұрын

All very interesting points; I think it's technically impossible to clone anyone to have a similar personality, so I agree it's only a clone in looks but on the other hand, is it still ethical really? I haven't researched it much recently, but I recall how common it was for cloning to fail, often resulting in early death and sickness. We still probably do not understand it very well, and yet we do it anyway. The eugenic part of it especially is very concerning, this is something we should not be messing with. If the clone is so different, why even bother to clone at all then? You're better off getting the same breed if it's the look you want or animals that are actually related. To clone, it seems as if you're trying to replace that pet you previously had rather than adding on to your family. I know the pain of losing a loved one, but a clone will never fix that, nothing ever will. I'm all for an open discussion on it, but I do not believe it's possible for cloning to be ethical. The lifespan and illnesses may not be as bad now but as she says in the interview, there's no way to know for sure. I don't see how a rare colouring makes it all worthwhile to risk that. It's a practice that can easily become corrupt and abusive.

Oh my. I haven't even started typing and I'm bawling! We lost our sweet baby boy Coco on June 9, 2023 @ 9:10 PM MST. I've been an avid animal lover my whole life and have had several assorted species of pets. However, dogs, cats and horses have always been my favorites. I've had some very special cats but I must confess I'm a dog lover more! The stories I have are too long for this but I have some amazing ones. Our Coco was unlike any of those. He was literally my son and best friend. Maybe I'll write a book or story one day but for now, our first Christmas without him, is heart-wrenching. He will be forever loved and in our hears. I will never, ever forget him and I'm so grateful to know that one day I'll be in heaven with him. I couldn't clone him though. He was a little 'mutt' and had such unique looks. However, his personality and character was what really made him so special. I know for me it was best to know he had the best life we could give him and even his death was special. My husband called him our angel and we really do believe that God gave us an angel for a little while. R.I.P. my sweet boy Coco. I love you so much and miss you but I know you're home and happy and healthy with Jesus. See you soon.

Yes, we lost our beloved Alaskan Malamute, at age 14, but he was a ruler from another world, a guide and protector in every way, a wolf spirit who we miss to this day. 😪

I lost my dog back in 2014 when she was 13 years old. After months of health issues, he began with cancer in her uterus to infection in the wound left after the surgery to remove the uterus. She was put down at the veterinarian. How felt, empty, I didn't cry, scream or anything, just was left empty and for weeks the world felt empty. As for cloning possibility, I am not sure the option was available back then and even then, it would have been too costly regardless.

This was extremely interesting. Science has come very far and this is becoming realistic for a lot more people and their animals. Of course, money is a big issue for most people. Some people can afford this and would be willing to pay for it without hesitation, while others cannot afford it, and still others might be willing to take a loan in order to "keep" their beloved pet with them. With that said, we had a dog that we would have definitely been willing to go into debt for in order to have him still with us. I think my wife and I would have perpetually kept him in our family if possible, and if it was reasonable enough as far as cost was concerned, and as long as animals were not injured in the process. He was a Standard Poodle and he was able to recognize when my medical condition was coming on, it was a great asset for me to be alerted. This was a natural ability and was never taught to him, he was truly special in that way. We lost him to bloat, even with certain precautions being taken against bloat. His memory makes us still regret not having him with us today. If no animals are being harmed, it's a personal choice that some people are still uneasy about when it comes to humankinds role in nature, etc.. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. Best wishes and good luck moving forward.

Cloning would be great for de-extinction for reviving extinct animals. However, cloning could get out of hand. Cloning becomes more controversial when humans are being cloned.

@@zenvariety9383 Exactly. Who knows? Governments may have been cloning people for a while now, there has been talk about it for years. Maybe it's been attempted for great scientists or just some ultra wealthy person that bought their way into the cloning world. Hey Walt Disney was frozen, maybe they can clone him? Nah, I forgot that he was a huge racist, they'll never clone him. He'll never know anyway, lol. Scary stuff.

I'm an engineer so I'm all pro science but when it comes to cloning and genetic modification I'm against it ethical or not. We as humans are too arrogant and believe we know what we're doing. If we fail in a product and it fails too bad but failing with living beings is just wrong. If we normalize cloning and genetic manipulation on animals eventually companies will try to normalize it on humans.

Well, I miss my kitty Mia who past from rat poisoning back in 2002 after she had been missing, and our brindle greyhound Nabuu in 2009 - we had to give him away after he held a grudge on a neighbor's pup. Worst days of my life when we had to go off separate ways from them

Willow and her cloned daughters are very stunning. It is a very controversial topic and nothing much has been publicly spoken about cloning since Dolly the sheep. I can see this bio tech being used in the pedigree community and a new way for selective breeding designer dogs. The thing I'm concerned about is that a dog with all the ideal traits can be cloned, but their environment in which they are raised in maybe different and the dog's temperament may not turn out the same. How would their owner react who've had their expectations set for the cloned animal, for them to turn out different from their parent dog?

Me and my family have had 3 dogs and 4 cats. Wilbur, Basil, and our current dog Zander. Buddy, Zephyr, Snare, and Tricks being our cats. Though Wilbur, Basil, Buddy, Zephyr, and Snare have since passed, Tricks is still with my little sister as she is her cat. Wilbur was my brother's dog, Zephyr belonged to my big sister, Snare belonged to me, Tricks belongs to my little sister, Buddy belonged to my mom, but Basil he was the family dog so was Wilbur but my brother picked him out. Losing Snare hurt. I had him for 12 years, had him since he was 2 years old I had him since I was 9 years old. 12/23/2020 was the day I lost my best friend and furbaby. I wasn't ok for the rest of December. I still don't remember much besides either crying myself to sleep, sleeping, and going to my mom or little sister for a hug just to try and feel better. I couldn't even look out the window to the backyard since that's where my big sister had buried him after we brought him home after putting him to sleep, he was 14 years old and had stopped eating as well as drinking. I found out 3 years later from my litter sister that he was in kidney failure and probably wouldn't have made it through the night. January of 2021 I started to feel better after I had a dream of him. It was just a short dream but I knew he was there just there to say hi and get his cheek scratched. As much as it hurt losing him I wouldn't clone him. The cat I would get from the clone could never replace my Snare. He would be a total new and different cat. My Snare was a cuddle demanding, attention seeking, and attention stealer. He got jealous if I was petting Bazil or Zephyr or even Tricks and try to push them away so that I would be petting him and not giving the other animals attention.

My Dalmatian/Springer Spaniel/ Border Collie passed away in January to liver failure at age 10 and it was so unexpected I was really grieving over her but I wouldn't want her cloned because I am unsure of if the liver problem was linked to her genetics or autoimmune or Copper intolerance. When she had a scan done the vets were unable to take a sample in case she started bleeding alot, so the last thing I would want is thet to happen again. Also another reason why I wouldn't is because they're so different in their individual personality.

He helps me in so many ways my life is going to be very hard without him. Theres no way I could afford it, AND no matter what, its not gonna be him 100% anyways. He is my first dog, I was younger and going through a very hard time in my life when he was young so thats one of the reasons he is so nuturing. But lets not judge a lady thats been through this kinda trauma with her heart dog :(
