It's great seeing the chap that got me into WoWP getting into WoWS. I think you will become a very good to great player based on what I have seen here. Your instincts are good, your aim is good, and you know the value of strategy. Some quick points (that you have probably got answered): 1. You actually use HE against lightly armored targets like destroyers and submarines. And, this is weird, you generally use HE if you are in a destroyer or cruiser against heavily armored targets. The reason you use HE against heavily armored ships is to start fires. Fires provide 'tick' damage against targets that are armored enough to shrug off your AP. It's hard to notice, but if you look at the mid-right of the screen as your shells hit you will see notifications of what your shells are doing when they hit. If they penetrate then continue to use AP, if they ricochet or 'over-pen' then think about switching to HE. 2. You use AP in cruisers and battleships against broadside cruisers and battleships. If you are fighting something facing you (bow tanking) or showing stern (kiting) then generally switch to HE. There is a Captain skill that make shell switching faster. 3. Unlike WoWP, the bots will never improve. That caught me out when I reached Tier IV in WoWP. Man, the bots made a big jump in quality and I guess they make another big improvement at Tier VIII. 4. Learn to 'waggle' between the minimum angle needed to use most (or all) your guns to an angle of 15% off bow/stern for defensive position. You will give up citadels for massive damage if you get hit broadside. Get inside the enemies OODA Loop (reload and aim time) to do the waggle. Be shooting when he is reloading, be bow tanking (15% off bow to target) or kiting (showing stern) when the chap is ready to fire. The games are very different. I think you will enjoy the choice. Right now, yes; when I'm exposed to the full features of the game, I don't think I'll notice that it's slower than planes!

Never say never! I played Tanks up to November 2022. Maybe one day I'll go back.

I know it a matter of opinion & preference, and I’ve only ever played Warplanes but after watching a few videos of WoT & WoWs, I believe I have chosen correctly. It makes me laugh how WoT players especially like to poke fun at Warplanes but I just keep feeling sorry for them since they don’t know🤣 Just my two cents (shillings?😊)

@@TheNobleQI am still fairly new to World of Warships. I have been playing on and off for about a year, up to tier 9. Its quite good and the grind isnt so bad. Sadly my naval tactics leave much to be desired unlike my flying and tanking tactics

@@thesnazzycomet Well, I'm finding hard to go from somebody who can lead a team to victory in WoWp (sometimes) to being a liability on a WoWs team, but I have to remember I'm very inexperienced.

hi 🙂 I you play cruiser : When an ennemy cruiser or battleship is broadside, shoot whit AP and you will have chance to hit the citadel. Otherwise, shoot HE, you will penetrate better and you will have chance ton start fire. If you play Battleship : AP AP AP and AP
