Congratulations, Andrew He! Great comeback after those missed Daily Doubles. You're in the Semi-Finals automatically, along with James Holzhauer.

I was really hoping Sam would win. He's proven that he put up a good fight against James twice. 😕

Sam is so cool and nice. At least he gets $50,000 to console him.

Can somebody explain Mattea and Andrew's wagers here? I feel usually in final jeopardy player make their wagers less on their confidence in the category and more on other players' scores.

Mattea wagered 2801 to stay over Sam's doubled score if they're right (rendering Sam's wager irrelevant) and clinch 2nd in the worst-case scenario, instead of 4801 to cover a 0 wager by Andrew and shoot for a win. Andrew's wager seems strange until you consider - what if Sam had gone all in? As long as Andrew wagers no more than 1999, He would also lock in 2nd at worst. 1900 isn't a terrible wager to stay ahead of Mattea, given that He misses and Mattea aims for 2nd. tl;dr both Andrew and Mattea seemed to want a guaranteed 1 point

For the Jeopardy Masters tournament, they are points. There are pre-determined cash prizes based on points accumulated.

Back in the 1990s, the UK had its own version of Jeopardy. The contestants would ask for a clue for 200 pounds. The presenter kept reminding them they were playing for points, not pounds. The tv network were too cheap to actually pay the monetary values. I think the prize for winning an episode was 500 pounds.
