Hi guys, thanks a lot for your inspiration! What I am looking for is kind of a "workshop construction kit". I am working for more than 20 years in the Software Industry and recognized more and more over the years that it is not about having the knowledge or the best ideas to make progress so I changed more and more towards workshop-style metings rather tahn these endless discussions. As the effort is way too high to prepare each of these workshop individually I am looking for something like: "these are the typical 20 situations where 90% of all projects/initiatives get stuck" and here are the 40 approaches to tackle them (A and B flavor for each situation ;-)) - so the job only would be to identify the right category of situation, grap into your kit and go rigth into the execise.... Ideas and hints to follow-up really appreciated! Thank you

hey Amr, got your channel recommended from a colleague who is a design thinker at my company. His name is Lukas Liebich, i love his trainings, workshops. This is my second time watching the same video... I am not a KZreadr but doing a small videos on my channel as well, mostly in my native... but your video ... i was glued to screen ... signed up, followed your channel and downloaded book to study more. This "facilitation" business or i should say mindset well aligns with my future career aspirations and goals. I want my coaching aspect to enhance, creativeness to improve, teaching/training skills to be active always and leadership skills to become solid. As you said dear, i am seeing and imagining facilitation skills as applicable to a wide variety or areas from daily meetings/ teambuildings to "possible" side business. thanks for your great work and keep it up !!!

What sort of activities would you do with your team for existing projects? 2. Do you have any videos talking about different type of activities that you can do as a team for existing/small projects. I know you guys have videos about design sprint but I am unsure if that would applicable to smaller projects.

Hey youravggamer15! Thanks for your question! As you mentioned, for bigger projects we normally do an Iteration Sprint that comes after the first design sprint. During the iteration sprint we actioned the feedback and the insights that we've gained after the first design sprints. For shorter problems we usually run an LDJ (Lightning Decision Jam). That's a 1-hour general problem solving workshop. If you want to lean more about the LDJ we have a KZread video showing you how to run it. ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/qW2B2Lt9kaSXcs4.html ). You can also download the guide for how to run it here -> ajsmart.com/ldj And if we want to solve a small problem like coming up with video content for youtube. We just run a short "Note and Vote" sessions. During this session, the participants get a specific amount of time to write down as many ideas as possible on sticky-notes. Then the sticky notes are put up on a wall and every participant gets an amount of voting dots. Then every one votes and the ideas with the most votes are the ones that get actioned. In the next few days, will be releasing a video about the "note and vote" including the script of what you should say during the exercise. We hope this was helpful. Cheers

@@AJSmart As a teacher we have alot of meetings! Where we have to tackle multiple points on agenda. For example an agenda would look like this: discipline; weekly planning; functions; period rosters; drafting policies; ens. That basically a list of what needs to be discussed at a teachers general meeting that needs to be held once or twice a term. This meetings can drag on for hours and than at the end no one has achieved anything, because everyone just wants it done and dusted. This brings me back to my question: How can you facilitate such meetings with multiple points and not let it get dragged out. So solutions can be found and everyone can participate quicker. Thank you for the great content the team is putting out. I use alot of your strategies in the classroom and I must say it has made me a better teacher for it.

Which is it more similar to? A scrum master or an event(meeting in this case) organiser?

Hey Anantha Krishnan! that’s a great question. In the case of the video, we’re talking about the role of the facilitator in a broad way, regardless of the type of workshop or recipe that’s being facilitated. So it could be indeed an event or meeting organiser. The idea is that the facilitator is able to bring a group of people together and help them solve their problems through a structured workshop. A scrum master should have facilitation skills too because she/he is responsible for facilitating key sessions and team events to ensure constant progress within the project. But since a scrum is a specific framework for developing and delivering products, the scrum master’s job encompasses a whole lot of other responsibilities specific to the scrum.
