Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce defends her Olympic Women's 100m crown at London 2012 with a time of 10.75 seconds. Carmelita Jeter of the USA finished with silver and Veronica Campbell-Brown in bronze.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

She is quite easy on the eyes and fast AF
You look at Felix and think to yourself wow, she's one heck of an incredible athlete. One of the most decorated on the track. Then you look at Veronica Camble-Brown, arguably the greatest female 200m runner and think geez. Then Jeter, super fast, very strong and lastly, the Goat. How does a little pocket rocket stand toe to toe with these great women? Shelly-Ann is in my eyes the greatest female athlete of all time. It's such a bold statement because Flo-Jo and the women I've named from this final alone(maybe not Jeter) make an argument to be considered the Goat. Shelly-Ann just doesn't make sense. She's so tiny. I still don't understand how? She kills you with her infectious smile before the race, and then destroys everyone before her in such a ruthless burst if speed making everyone play catch up. It's like you know what's coming but you can't stop it. Power to the great and beautiful black women. You guys are truly queens and thank you for the inspiration throughout the years. Nothing but love, all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦

Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce is the greatest female sprinter of all time!! Absolutely gorgeous!!
I found it so beautiful when she went back to hug that little chap with the coloured hair who shouts "Shelly-Ann"! Tears came to my eyes because the officials were leading her away. The look on his little face was so disappointing before she went back to him. It is so pleasing she did. It is nice to know when you're a fan of someone you're acknowledged; especially when they are in arms reach from you.
SAFP is a queen. That’s it. And the first thing she said when she found out she got the gold was “Thank you Jesus.” I have nothing but respect
This one of the best olympic 100m final ever. The stadium, the crowd, the cameras angles and the fight of the athletes everything was on point.

+Anahi Cardona yes indeed. All are still in great shape and going strong. Felix Fraser Ohoure and the one to really watch out for could be Okabare. With the arrival of Schippers The US is in danger this year but there are three sprinters that could surprise for US but rio might see ohoure okabare fraser and schippers in top four. but the true star overall will be Allyson Felix. She could win a gold in the 200 and she will win in 400. I see the US relay team of 4x1 and 4x4 winning gold as well. Felix could have three golds this year or at least two and a silver or bronze.

Felix looks like she could chew a apple through a picket fence with that forehead and teeth..LOL… Seriously though, Felix's strength is the 200M where here long strides and finishing kick gives her good top speed. O Lord, it's a congregation of them. (See what I did there haha) Honestly I don't wanna do this. I've been there done that. Jesus died on the cross for my sins, He loved me so much that he took my place on Calvary's cross. He died and He rose again and is right now seated in glory waiting to call me home. That's what He did for me. You want to know why the world is so messed up? Two words FREE WILL. We could have been commanded to be perfect; obedient. But we were given a choice and time and time again we have destroyed ourselves with greed, selfishness, lust, pride, idolatry and so many more things that distance us from God. So I believe we shall agree to disagree because nothing you say will make me turn my back on Jesus. But for you, well the bible says that in the end it will be undeniable. "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord" Don't wait 'cause it might be too late for you. Jesus loves you (right this minute, just the way you are), and you know what....I love you too =)

Just searched for some statistics. At this moment, there are a total of 73 times women ran under 10.80 seconds. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce owns the most of them with 16 times. The second goes to Marion Jones with 13, followed by Elaine Thompson with 8, Carmelita Jeter with 5, and both Ottey and Flo-Jo with 4. Flo-Jo impressed with all 4 times all in top 10, but all within three months in two events.

Elitedevil smh the fact that I am stating that the women are beautiful does NOT reflect in any way or form that I’m degrading these women or stating that they are only “their bodies.” They’re amazing OVERALL, in all aspects (women). If I wish to point out that they’re beautiful, that is a(n) RESPECTFUL comment & I’m entitled to share this. Stop w/the negative comments as if I said something rude or short-sided
That line up was a heck of talents!
Who just loves the commentator here? That time you love the English commentary. Shelly 👌🏽
It is AMAZING that she literally walks that time nowadays. Put 2022 Shelly in this race and she blows away the field. Like fine wine 🇯🇲🇯🇲🙏🏾
Shelly is greatest runner she deserves it
Still watching in 2023
I just love the way they look, their hair, nails, make up and the bling, blings.
The US and Jamaican teams seem to be friends. Maybe it has something to do with how both teams finish close to each other or something.

I remember where I were when Shelly won this race I was jumping for joy by Mark Jones author of the book Great Jamaican Athletes
Beauty, grace, power! Poetry in motion!
when Shelly comes out of the blocks... to watch her accelerate (head down powerful legs churning) into high gear it is really...astounding.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce The beeeeest♥

Whose here after Shelly's 7 global medal in this event . The most of any athlete ever at this event.X
Saludos a USAIN bOLT... Mauro Ynga
