Usain Bolt wins the final of the men's 200m at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Yohan Blake and Warren Weir finished second and third respectively as Jamaica win gold, silver and bronze in the event.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men. =========================================

2KILLAVILLE - Yohan ran that 19.26 time into a + headwind. Bolt ran his 19.19 into a - headwind. If Bolt would have had that headwind at Berlin in 09, he could have ran 19.0X-18.9X as crazy as that sounds and he did that after 4 rounds of the 100m and 3 rounds of the 200m to get to the final. Wind matters in track and field and is often over looked when people are comparing times. Just a little insight. Both times are impressive nontheless.

2KILLAVILLE you know what's funny about that run? Blake had a slow reaction time during his start, something like .217 seconds or something. I he had reacted just .08 seconds faster, which sprinters do all the time, he would've broke bolts world record if he had just gotten a slightly faster start.

He shoulda tried harder, either way it doesn’t effect Blake if he loses by 0.12s instead of 0.22s. I’m always annoyed by Bolt not giving his all. I suppose he thinks that when his records eventually get broken people will be able to say he didn’t even give it his all and argue he would’ve beaten the new record if that person had been around in his era.

Descansa en paz leyenda Alex Quiñonez... Gracias por haber dejado en alto el nombre de nuestro país, que orgullo mas grande haber sido representado por tan humilde y talentoso deportista... Tenías mucho que dar todavía...
