Full coverage of the semi-finals of the women's 100m event from the Olympic Stadium as Carmelita Jeter (USA), Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (JAM) & Blessing Okagbare all win their semi-final races at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

MrDport58 No doubt Usain had one of the best showings ever, but I'm talking about the women here. Their accomplishments get overlooked enough already, then here you come with Bolt.

MrDport58 this video, to which my comment is referencing, is about women's athletics in the Olympics. But I'll simplify for you further: In WOMEN'S track & field, at the 2012 games, this was the Olympics of Felix, having won 3 gold medals and assisting in setting a world record. I'm fairly certain most reading my statement understood what I was saying. Hope this clears up any confusion.

MrDport58 "I Know You Were Referring To This Particular Video" so then WHY should I have to clarify if you already KNEW what I was referring to? But glad it's cleared up for you. Lesson learned, when commenting on KZread, leave no stone upturned.

2012 was definitely her best season. Now that she's approaching 30, I honestly don't think Felix will have a better year.

ThunderJuice I can agree with that, but I think she is so far ahead, if she loses a couple of tenths of her times, she will still be ahead of the pack.
